“delicious healthy jungle hippie gourmet!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2013

really delicious food and reminds me of a california hippie food menu. Lotsa veggies, huge portions, everything organic and local as possible. Really nice atmosphere, super friendly people and a little market to buy handmade products.

“Lovely place for a bite”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2013

I enjoyed the atmosphere here very much. The (new - ish) owner is effusive and delightful and will hand out generous samples of his homemade cashew chocolate butter which is quite delicious. The service was wonderful and they found me a taxi when I was didn't want to hitchhike to my next destination. I couldn't figure out what was going on with the Wifi though, one day I was told it was broken, the same thing 4 days later, then I saw the waiter giving someone else the password, so I asked for it again, got it, and it wasn't broken at all. Not quite sure what's going on there. That said, the waiter is very helpful and pleasant.
If I may make a suggestion, I think this restaurant would benefit from a few more creative menu items - smoothies in particular, and non dairy options for smoothies, also gluten free bread for the sandwiches (which is offered at cafes in PV town). People love to pick smoothies from a menu and at a place that is advertising itself as a healthy destination I expect to see some more creativity on the menu. Not a criticism, just a suggestion.
This place is obviously a haven for healthy eaters and alternative lifestylers in the area which gives it a lovely vibe. A lady makes homemade kombucha and they are selling it here too.
Worthy of checking out for sure.

Thank you so much for your review. It really means a lot to us when customers take time to write.

You've hit on some really great points and I'm happy to provide some more information.

Very few restaurants in the area serve organic fruits and vegetables. As a result, they often have more options to select from. Our focus isn't just on providing vegan/vegetarian, but also organic. It's our mission to serve nonGMO, pesticide & fungicide etc free meals. We work with and support local farmers who are organic. So this means that sometimes we have a limited menu for things like smoothies. For example, perhaps there wasn't a good batch of strawberries one week because there was a lack of rain. Or maybe Mangoes aren't in season... so we don't have them.

We offer almond milk, hazelnut milk, and soy milk as alternatives to dairy and can make almost any item on the menu gluten free. With exception to the fresh baked whole wheat bread that is delivered daily ;-)

Lastly the Internet.. ah this is such a tricky thing. It may very well have been down and you witnessed our waiter Michael tell you it's down and then Nate the owner unknowingly give someone the password. Perhaps, he reset it and it started working again. Since I wasn't there it's hard to tell. We do have some of the best internet in the area, but as most folks who live here know it is not as reliable as the states and could be down for any number of reasons.

I hope this was helpful and again thank you so much for the review and giving us a chance to provide more information about the restaurant. All the best to you and yours, safe travels!!

“Owner is the star of this place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2013

We stopped here quite a few times on our 10 day honeymoon- and it was not for the food, but for the awesome service and the outgoing and exceptional owner. When he found out it was our honeymoon, he gave us hugs, kind words, organic chocolate and kambucha juice and even a pair of earrings! It's the amazing service here that kept bringing us back. The food was alright- the batidos were great and we did like the lentil burgers. It's a must go just for the amazing people who work here.

“Excellent service, very good food”

The food and drinks were really good. The prices were excellent, one of the cheaper meals we had while in Costa Rica. The servers are very good also.

“Healthy, Natural and SO FRIENDLY!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2013

We were welcomed with a smile, a warm handshake and genuine conversation. The scrambled eggs are amazing, full of vegetables. The pineapple and papaya jam is an absolute must for your toast!
