At the end of a one-day cruise stop in Puerto Limon, we enjoyed a great meal here on the recommendation of our local guide. We ordered the casado (rice and beans, served separately) with fresh mackerel, and a serving of rice 'n beans (served together, flavored with some coconut milk) with chicken. Both dishes were very tasty, fresh and more than satisfying! My husband also enjoyed a wonderfully spicy beef patty. For drinks, there was a local ginger soda, the name of which I forget... The place has a distinctly local vibe, which we felt was a nice change of pace from the tourist crowd on our cruise.
