We (couple, 41 & 50) stayed at Piscina Natural in March 2014. We paid $45 a night for a room with bathroom, floor fan and one comfortable double bed. The bathroom was small and simple; the shower had an electric shower head for hot water. BUT there was no bathroom door! And the windows were not screened. We slept with the windows closed and under a mosquito net and were not bothered by mosquitos. The room is simple but clean and nicely decorated. The beautifully landscaped property is one of the nicest in over 50 hotels we've stayed at the past five months. The natural pool, a big tide pool, is amazing to look at and great for wading. The property is right on a rocky portion of the coast with lots of chairs and hammocks to enjoy the view. There is no restaurant but a kitchen for use 6:00 AM to 11:00AM. There are a few restaurants within five minutes walking but the town, shops and ATMs are 20 minutes away. Playa Negra is three minutes walking away. We rented bikes which made the town much more accessible. The owners, Patty and Walter, were friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed (there are only five rooms). The wi-fi was available only near the kitchen and was very weak. There are no taxis in Cahuita, so we had to walk 2 Km with our packs. Piscina Natural is a good value. Put in bathroom doors, screen the windows and allow kitchen use all day and it would be an excellent value. We will stay at Piscina Natural if we return to Cahuita.
