We stayed here for two night as part of a Costa Rica tour. This is a modern hotel on the outskirts of San Jose and within a few minutes of the airport. The rooms are spacious, the food is good and the staff very helpful and friendly. Some noise does echo from the corridors to the rooms due to the hard floors.

We used this hotel for our first and last nights in Costa Rica. It's close to the international airport, and fairly close to Tobias Bolanos, the airport that NatureAir uses.

This is a classy property in a beautiful setting - lovely building with attractive Spanish colonial central courtyard and very comfortable rooms with good beds and quality bedding. The food in the restaurants was tasty, the breakfast buffet costly but excellent, worth it.

Negatives:
- The attractive but cold pools, which were quite the shock to the system after heated pools in most resorts and the beautifully warm ocean water.
- The costly internet access and separate charge for computer use. Surely the Marriott can provide free wifi at the rates they charge.

Being an American hotel in cooler San Jose, the Marriott serves as a good transition from the hot hot Pacific and whatever cold destination you have to return to.

Excellent easy in , easy out after or before your flight at San Juan Santamaria. Restaurants are open late. Room service is 24 hours. Several breakfast options. Better rooms are on the upper floors. Spa is open until 9pm.

The Marriott was an excellent venue for our conference and a wonderful place to relax. My room was well-appointed and clean, with a beautiful view from the window. I found Goldilock's bed in my room, but there was nothing "just right" about the luxurious bath. The large tub and copious amounts of hot water encouraged self-indulgence.

The hallways and public rooms are partially open to the outside, allowing fresh air to the inside and unobstructed views to the outside. The central courtyard is open to the sky. Series of arched openings in the walls allow convenient access between the dining rooms, conference rooms, and halls to the hotel rooms.

Breakfast consists of a vast array of foods - pastries, fruits, eggs, meats, cold and hot drinks - indeed, more than I can remember. Service was generally excellent and friendly, although our group was large and occasionally overwhelmed hotel staff. This led us to a more leisurely approach to breakfast and lunch that is normal for North Americans, a positive change for most of us.

The Marriott has earned its excellent reputation. Should the opportunity to visit arise, do it!
