A very clean and sufficient euipped hotel in the center of town, though very quiet, if you can forget the bells of the church nearby in the early morning. The breakfast is unique, and the owner is the best forever. You can use the little kitchen in the breakfast room to complete your breakfast if necessary. Every morning you will find among others new fruits served delicately. The nearbyguarded parking site is included in the price.

My husband and I traveled with our son and his wife on a 10day vacation in Costa Rica. Hotel Hojarascas was located 15min east of the International airport, making it easy to make the connection to our early morning flight. Jose was an incredible host, making us feel at home in his hotel. He gave excellent recommendations for restaurants and travel routes. We felt safe and secure in downtown Heredia and our rental car was safely parked a 1/2 block away in a secured lot. The buffet breakfast in the morning was generous and had a great variety. We rented the apartment for two night. It had two bedrooms, bath, kitchen and living room. We, at first, was hesitant about staying in the heart of the city, which was only 1 block from the church and central park, but our fears were quickly calmed by Jose. The Hotel was surprising very quiet and very little street noise penetrated into the rooms. It also had internet access and free laundry facilities. My daughter-in-law was in the process of doing some laundry in the morning, and when Jose heard that we had to wait until the dryer was finished, he insisted that we go on our sight seeing adventure and he would put away the clothes in our room. Sure enough, we came back and all the clothes were neatly folded on the bed. Now that is customer service!!

A surprising diamond in the rough, the Hotel Hojarascas was overflowing with attention to details and special touches. Our family was delighted with our accommodations there. Owned and operated by a wonderfully warm and caring Tico family, we were immediately made to feel at home there. Not only is the hotel immaculate, but free internet service and free washers and dryers are available as well. And the breakfast spread is unforgettable- fresh fruits galore like pineapple, papaya ,mango and watermelon prepared fresh each day! The family members, and particularly Jose Omar, are great advisors for tours and restaurants and general information from banks and grocery stores to taxis. We truly feel our Tico experience was made so much richer for having stayed at the Hotel Hojarascas, hosted by such loving and professional people.

I've already been in several hotels in Heredia and Costa Rica because I usually travel to this country within the framework of an exchange of professors with the "Universidad Nacional" (UNA) and "Universitat de Girona" (Catalonia). Thus with knowledge of cause, I can affirm that this is the best hotel I've been in Costa Rica!
Clean, full breakfast with nice fresh fruits, free washing machine, free wi fi Internet, skype video conferences in any of their PC, centrally located in Heredia and a perfect base for doing other excursions and visits around and coming back at night, they pick up and deliver you at the airport free of charge (saving a lot of money!)...
Really good value for the money but above all, what's more important and what you remember as the most important characteristic of this small family hotel is the friendliness and nearly loving care of their staff. A truly great experience!!
