I've already been in several hotels in Heredia and Costa Rica because I usually travel to this country within the framework of an exchange of professors with the "Universidad Nacional" (UNA) and "Universitat de Girona" (Catalonia). Thus with knowledge of cause, I can affirm that this is the best hotel I've been in Costa Rica!
Clean, full breakfast with nice fresh fruits, free washing machine, free wi fi Internet, skype video conferences in any of their PC, centrally located in Heredia and a perfect base for doing other excursions and visits around and coming back at night, they pick up and deliver you at the airport free of charge (saving a lot of money!)...
Really good value for the money but above all, what's more important and what you remember as the most important characteristic of this small family hotel is the friendliness and nearly loving care of their staff. A truly great experience!!

We chose the Hotel & Boutique Hojarascas in Heredia based on the reviews in Tripadvisor. Heredia was a typical working Costa Rican city and the hotel is in the city center and is very close to San Jose airport. Don't be fooled by the outside of this boutique hotel because you will be pleasantly surprised once inside! The rooms are immaculate and nicely furnished and breakfasts and coffee were delicious. There are free washers and dryers for your laundry as well as free internet service. The inside of the hotel is bright, light and cheerful. The absolutely best part was the wonderful family that owns this hotel. They were the most sincerely warm, friendly and helpful people we have ever encountered at any hotel we've stayed. One rainy evening, Jose, one of the owners, drove us to a restaurant because we weren't sure how to get there. That was so very considerate of him. He always stopped what he was doing to answer any questions we had and also provide us with great information. Stay at this hotel and you will be happy for the wonderful experience! We recommend it highly and would stay here again!

I was plesantly suprised at the quality and cleanliness of the hotel. The free breakfast and internet were also greatly appreciated. The central location was perfect and the hotel was run by some of the nicest people I have ever met!! Also the free transportation to and from the airport is incredible. This is the best deal in Heredia! This was my last stop in Costa Rica and it was really a pleasure to have stayed here!

"Home away from home" is the best way to depict the unique experience that we enjoyed during our stay at Hotel Hojarascas. My wife and I are missionaries, and we have been away from home for over a year. We were in desperate need of a short vacation--so God opened the door for us to stay at this special "home." If you are looking for a place to get away from it all, but still desire the amenities of home life...you need not look any further. This family-run business is actually as far from a business as imaginable. When you cross the threshold, you begin to grasp the sentiment of "mi casa es su casa". For instance, if you need to use the internet there are 2 computers and a printer available (free of charge)...Need to wash clothes? they have 2 washer and dryers at your disposal (free of charge)...Tired of eating out all week? Just walk across the street to shop at the grocery store, come back, and have full range in their loaded kitchen...Coffee drinkers? Well, there's always a fresh pot of Costa Rican coffee available and don't be surprised if Omar, Judith, Jose or Mama Carmen invite you to snack with them in the evening. The facility is just over two years old and is absolutely immaculate. The Arias Herrera Family is extremely detail-oriented. Don't worry, they have already anticipated your every need. Let me conclude in stating that our reservations at first were only for a week's stay. Yet, after the seven days, we opted for an extension for three more days! We didn't want to leave "home"! That in itself should be an indicator of the quality experience that you too will receive at Hotel Hojarascas.
