After originally trying to book a reservation at Capitan Suizo, my girlfriend and I walked past El Mono Loco and decided to save over $100/night to stay across the street!
El Mono Loco is not flashy, but is clean, comfortable, and well located -- not right in the noisy part of "town" but close enough to walk to everything. A short path walk to the beach for a stroll, and a little out of the way for the rowdy crowd to ruin a relaxing visit.
I would stay there again in a heartbeat. Note: we visited in August (the rainy season) and it didn't rain once in 5 days. We paid $40 for a comfortable double room, and had a pleasant, delicious breakfast each morning. Very nice owners!
