My boyfriend and I just returned from a trip to Costa Rica. We found this hotel listed in the Frommer's guide and booked it after seeing it's website. For the price ($60 night) it was a steal with all the things we could possibly want. The bungalows are adorable and nestled away from all the construction and noise of the main strip of Tamarindo. We had A/C, which is definitely needed if you are going during the dry season, a comfy queen sized bed, small bathroom, mini fridge, safe and wardrobe for our clothing. The floor of the bungalow is concrete so flip flops are a must. The porch outside had a table with chairs and a hammock for relaxing in the shade. The grounds are beautifully manicured with tropical plants and trees. The owner is American and recently acquired the place. He was very helpful and allowed us access to the internet and telephone in his office. The website has not been updated however, so as an FYI there is no longer a restaurant on the grounds of the hotel but there are several good restaurants in walking distance.
My only complaint is the maid service was somewhat lacking - we had to requent new towels and sheets when we needed them. The lighting is also very dim. But for the price it's definitely one of the nicest places to stay in the area. I'll definitely be going back!
