The position was excellent, just across the road from the beach and within easy walking distance of all the shops and restaurants. It's also placed away from the busy street so its very quiet. The hotel has beautiful gardens and an amazing and clean pool. Linen, sheets and towels in bad need of replacing. The guy behind the reception desk couldn't have been nicer and responded very quickly when we called for toilet paper when it ran out and towels when we needed them. However, staff attitudes were appalling. Nobody has any interest in the needs of the guests. Breakfast is not a fun experience. You can either have 1. Tea or coffee, toast and orange juice (classified as continental breakfast) or 2. fruit, coffee/tea and orange juice or 3. scrambled egg, tea/coffee and orange juice and you can't have eggs, coffee/tea and toast. They are very strict about this. Portions are quite big, so the best thing is to order 2 different combinations and then share so that you get scrambled egg and toast in the same order. The old couple who run the place are trying to sell it and have totally lost interest in it, so attitudes come from the top down. Such a shame. This place has such potential, but they have just missed the boat. However, it was a whole lot better than the guesthouse Luna Llena which were booked in at. The town was full, and accommodation was difficult so we were just pleased to find Hotel Tropicana at the last minute for our group.

Good location just across the road from the beach. Our 1st mistake was paying for our room before we looked at it. The 1st room the bed was full of hair. The 2nd room we tried the sheets were wore right thru....mostly held together by threads and garbage on the floor.tried to get our money back and had a tough time....so we tried a 3rd room and the bedspread had a bunch of dead bugs on it. So needless to say the wife was not having any part of these accommodations. We left without a refund, but came back the next day and the manager did cancel the charges on our credit card. For $85 we didnt expect a palace, but a good maid would have made a world of difference

We only stayed 2 nights thankfully. They didn't have our reservations the staff was very unfriendly rooms very dirty, broken tiles in the bathroom, the hotel as a whole was not maintained. No restaurant the use to be bar was rusted and falling apart. If the staff had been friendly it wouldn't have been easier to take. Yes it was close to the beach thankfully. It was a very sad and disappointing end to a wonderful trip.
