I have been going to Tamarindo for over 12 years. I have stayed in a variety of hotels. This is my favourite. The location is ideal, especially if you surf. The grounds are beautiful, and its hard to believe that you are in the middle of town because you feel so secluded. And taken care of, the staff are attentive and friendly. I had a technical issue happen to my room, not their fault, but they compensated amazingly. Denis and Norma were really helpful. The balcony and view from my room

Jardin del Eden exemplifies a vacation within a vacation spot. There is really no need to leave the hotel grounds only to walk and see the actual beach. Other than the beach, the hotel provides an amazingly relaxing area. One would imagine that most of our time would be spent on the beach or walking the streets of Tamarindo. Quite the contrary due to the relaxing state of our hotel. We spent majority of our trip engaging in outdoor and adventurous activities so when we read the reviews about Jardin del Eden we were deeply enthusiastic about our upcoming stay. We were not disappointed in the slightest! Upon early arrival my boyfriend and I were allowed to store our luggage in a secure closet. We walked towards the pool and we were in awe. The pool and dining area was spectacular. We received a free natural smoothie and sipped our drinks on the vacant day beds. Words cannot describe the serene feeling the daybeds/pool area provide. We brought down cards and ordered appetizers while we ate, drank, and played on the day bed. Our room became available and it was stunning! The room was modern and chic while also being comfortable and serine. The balcony area was beautiful, we literally did not want to leave our room. The private beach area was vacant and stunning we witnessed two iguanas playing while relaxing on the chairs. The next day we shopped, ate (way too much), and then made our way back to the gorgeous pool area. We tried the restaurant that night, within the hotel, and order the lobster and ravioli. It just felt like we finally could let our hair down and deeply relax in this hotel. Last but not least, the free breakfast was a daily highlight in the morning. From the omelet bar to fresh jelly and waffles, everything was delicious. Will come back soon, hopefully it will stay secluded after all of these flattering reviews.

My boyfriend and I stayed here as our second part of our Costa Rican vacation and coming from the adventurous but cooler rain forest fun this hotel was EXACTLY what we were looking for! Doing a lot of research I found the reviews very accurate and was more then happy when we arrived . Newly renovated even the Lobby is luxurious and everything is very clean including our room daily. At first we were disappointed there were no full ocean views available but we were more then happy with our "partial" ocean which gave us gorgeous scenery day and night. Beds are great especially if you like them on the firm side . Staff was all very friendly and helpful, if anything I'd say there needs to be more as we often had to wait a bit for coffee and place settings at breakfast or when ordering drinks but again this is not a five star. We took advantage of the pool daily , good music and sounds of the running waterfall were very relaxing, only couples and adults it was quiet but still upbeat. Be sure to get down early as there are limited chairs and they get taken quick! One thing we can't stress is saving a meal for their restaurant!! The reviews don't lie it was one of our best meals of the trip! Dinner service was perfect, we received a complementary app which was also delicious. Off the beaten path is great for quiet and so convenient to walk into town we took advantage and tried new bars and restaurants, wish we could advertise more for this restaurant though as I think most don't know how to get up to it ... If anything save it for a special night as you feel as though your in a five star restaurant overlooking the pool and your taste buds won't be disappointed:) All in all we would honestly stay here again if we were to come back to Tamarindo in a heart beat!!!

It was absolutely gorgeous, the grounds are meticulously cared for, but our toilet didn't flush unless you lifted the tank lid, and the wireless was ridiculous. If it connected at all, it only lasted a few minutes. And with the toilet issues, we brought this up with the front desk a few times, and nothing was ever done about it. For the price we paid, we were disappointed these two issues were treated as non-issues.

Just got back from our vacation in Tamarindo, we stayed at the hotel from 3/11-3/16. Just want to start with saying the hotel is beautiful and the the staff is wonderful, everyone is so friendly, great attitudes and very helpful in any way they can.
The grounds are gorgeous, well kept, very clean, there is always staff every morning cleaning and maintaining it including the pool. I do agree with other visitors, as far as if you have some limitations walking around, this may not be the best place for you to stay, there are a lot of stairs and a lot of inclines that can become a little challenging to get around the hotel.
There is some construction going on around the hotel so there were some days not all, that it became very loud. Honestly, it didn't really bother us but we can see how it may bother other people.
The only issue we had with our room was the air conditioning was not great. Maybe it was the set up of the room but it was not very cool. We did address our concerns with the front desk and they sent a maintenance person to check on it and all he said was that it was at its coolest setting. The ceiling fan helped but we would've loved it if it was cooler. We sucked it up because the room was large and had partial view of the ocean. Also, the floor was a bit dirty, every night after showering and walking around the room i would have to wipe my feet with a wet towel to clean them before getting in to bed. Other than those 2 issues everything else was great. They don't keep irons in the room but they will provide you with one if you ask for it. We also wished that they had a gym on the grounds, but who knows if that's what they're working on adding to the hotel.
The hotel was conveniently located across the street from the beach, with the little garden that gave you a little privacy from the rest of the beach. I read somewhere that the people selling things on the beach could become a bit much, but they didn't really bother us much, maybe only 3 vendors approached us but nothing crazy.
Also, a lot of the restaurants were all walkable from the hotel, many different options to choose from. We did try the hotel breakfast which was good and dined at the restaurant one evening. The dinner and drinks were great. Only wished they had like pool service for ordering drinks, if you wanted a drink you had to walk up to the restaurant bar to order and they would bring it to you. It's so not a huge deal but when you're lounging and vegetating on ur chair, you can become a little lazy to get up and order it yourself.

The hotel was very nice and clean. The breakfast at the restaurant was great with lots of choices. It was nice to not have to go to town for breakfast. We only ate dinner at the restaurant once and it was fantastic, we should have eaten there more often. The pool area was beautiful and quiet. It was relaxing to hang out at the pool (no children are allowed at the hotel). Our room must have been one of the rooms that was not remodeled yet, however it was clean. If you can't go up and down stairs you might want to find another hotel or ask for a room that accommodates less stair climbing. This was a wonderful place to go as a couple to relax and unwind.

Room Tip: Ask for one with less stairs to the pool and restaurant.

All the rooms (and balconies) in this seemingly-new, immaculate, and charming small hotel are at various levels of a terraced bowl formed by lush foliage and palm trees with the open-air restaurant pool and hot tub at its bottom. As others have noted, the location is near the bustling beach and downtown, but just far enough away to be a peaceful retreat. The restaurant serves an ample, sophisticated breakfast (to-order omelets, croissants, rolls, fresh fruit) and a sophisticated inner menu. Under a deft manager, the staff was gracious, with decent English and a discreetly helpful attitude. I walk with a cane, and unasked, the staff "adopted" me, so that whenever the front desk caught a glimpse of me walking down the steps to the pool, someone silently materialized beside me, offering a shoulder to lean on if I needed it, and melting away when we reached the bottom. More railings and stronger light for reading in bed would be nice. The rooms are well air conditioned, but the wind in the palm trees often made sitting outdoors more pleasant.

Room Tip: Rooms at lowest level may have a view of the palms but not the ocean, and may occasionaly have peopl...
