I feel lucky to have stumbled upon this truly amazing find - tempting to keep it a secret, but much better to share the information - just waiting for Budget Travel to write a rave review so I'll have to be put on the waiting list for reservations - Sigh. Yes, A++

Old style Costa Rican cabinas overlook a swimming pool offer a much more authentic stay than a hotel room in any part of this Surfer's Paradise! I've loved this place so much, it has charm and offers an oasis from the dirt roads, surfers' well-treaded party spots, and noise found near the main strip - It feels like a garden oasis with the lush vegetation surrounding the pool after walking through the gate of the Bungalows after a 5-7 minute walk from shopping, restaurants, two grocery stores (surprising well-stocked with almond milk, soymilk...), and the beach.

My cabina was spotless, comfortable and charming with a surprising comfortable Queen-sized mattress- always hot water (seems to be optional in Costa Rica) - but I can't decide whether it was the the coziness of the cabina during a thunderstorm that won me over or the beautiful private patio on the ground level overlooking the pool with hammock and a lounger- Truly- I can't decide with was more ideal-

Breakfast times are flexible - which I found very helpful and accommodating (Continental - very nice). A/C is unnecessary- fan was more than adequate with three speeds- Neighborhood noise was rare (mariachi band at nearby restaurant only on weekends and ends around 10:00PM) and nothing compared to the traffic, horns, and thumping music of the main street of Tamarindo. The pool is surrounded by gravel, rather than grass, and the B&B is the most beautiful at night with the glowing pool and dimly-lit private patios, but any complaints about this B&B should be sent to the Reservation Desk at the Courtyard Marriott - because that's where you should be staying instead :)

I can't believe how magical this place is! Tucked away in a private oasis ... The staff is super friendly and helpful. Walking distance to the Main Street. The interior if the cabinas are beautiful and the bed is comfy too. . You feel really relaxed everyone morning and wake up with a huge smile !
I can't wait to come back. I will always choose this place and recommend it to everyone one I know!

We stayed at the Beach Bungalows for 7 days in March, and it was one of the best experiences we have ever had. The bungalows are clean, comfortable and very well taken care of. The pool is clean, and gets great sun for the majority of the day, for you sun worshipers out there :-) Breakfast every morning is fresh and delicious; an excellent way to start your morning relaxing with some fruit, toast and coffee. Heidi, the manager, was so helpful with anything we needed, from where to swim or eat, to helping us find a post office. What I really liked about the Beach Bungalows was the fact that there are only 4 bungalows, so at max, there are 8 people staying there at one time. Sometimes we felt like we were staying at our own private place, it was great. If you are coming here for absolute peace and quiet, my question to you is, "What are you doing in Tamarindo?" If you are coming for a fun and relaxing vacation, with a great central location, you've come to the right place :-) I have nothing but great things to say about this place, and will definitely stay here again, when we return to the beautiful country of Costa Rica :-) Thank you Heidi and Judy! This place is not at all what it seems. Upon arrival we were surpised at what we found. The property is very small, the rooms are small, and the walls were paper thin. At night there is a bar that had blasting music all night. Even with earplugs niether of us slept, between that, the barking dogs, and loud mufflers driving by. If you are looking for something cheap and VERY basic then this would probably be fine. This property would be targeted to an under 30 age group, and not for couples.
