“All atmosphere, but some good food in some instances”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013 via mobile

As many reviews have said, the sunsets are why you REALLY go here. The service is glacially slow, but hey it's Costa Rica. Probably the best shrimp tacos I've had ANYWHERE.

“Fab Beachside Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

I went to Nogui's in 2010 on my first visit to Tamarindo. I was blown away then. It's still very good, and the view is excellent. They also serve dinner pretty late. We got fish tacos, shrimp tacos, casado and pork loin. All were very good, though perhaps a bit expensive for what they were. I didn't want to give this 4 stars, but it is above average, so it doesn't deserve three. That said, I think it's the perfect location for a beachside cocktail and snack versus dinner.

“Heard the Pie was the BEST EVER, but was disappointed.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

Stopped for coconut cream pie to go one night after a long day of excursions. It was good, but not the WOW I was expecting. We stopped one day and had a drink as we wrote postcards and the drinks were good. Another night we decided to have dinner and once again, it was just okay. Nothing really special. So overall, the location is great, the decor is fun, but would spend money elsewhere for food.

“Best pie that ever was”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2013

Not on the menu, but Nogui's has a variety of AMAZING pies. They are only $4 a slice, too. The Pina pie comes with Ice Cream too. Wow. Go early enough in the evening before their pies start to run out! It is located at 'The Circle' right on the beach.

Nogui's is a great place for sunsets but the food not so great. My first fish taco was great, the second tasted like it had been around for awhile,it was sooo fishy tasting. The coconut pie, however, was very good.
