We spent 8 nights here and loved it. I did a lot of research before hand, and this is the only hotel in town and on the beach. Everything else is either a block or 2 back from the beach, or on the beach a long walk from town. Or it's a backpacker's hostel.
It's the most convenient location, with the grocery store across the street, and the surf school (C&C) 2 doors down.
It's true that there's no AC. But there are fans in the bedrooms, and even a Canadian like me was perfectly comfortable at night without the AC. My husband even turned the fan off a few nights.
I do wish there were screens on the front windows. We had to close the windows at sun down, otherwise the room would fill with flying bugs.
And my husband was getting a little sick of other tourists taking pictures from the beach while he was laying in his hammock, and then coming up and asking questions about the room, because it is a unique setup.
It must be booked well in advance. There is actually only 5 rooms, since one is used as an office. We saw lots of people arrive and hope to get in, only to be disappointed. Our friends that were travelling with us had booked the Mirador on the suggestion of someone who had spent their honeymoon there. But when they saw the Treehouse, they asked for a room. They were only able to move 3 days later.
Rooms 2 & 3 have the best views of the beach, 4 & 5 have a bush in front of them. #1 is the ground floor unit.
