Situated above possibly the most idyllic and beautiful bay in the world the view from the dining lanai is incredible. The hotel is located at Playa Carrillo on the west coast of Costa Rica's Guanacaste penisula. The little village that abuts the hotel offers several small restaurants as well as access to kayaking, surfing, wind surfing, and canopy tours for those who enjoy the treetop heights.

The hotel itself is lovely with casita rooms overlooking the vista of beach and sea. Originally established as a mecca for the sport fisherman arrangements can be made at the hotel for half or full day fishing with the several captains who moor their boats in the bay below the hotel.

The hotel has full bar and dining facilities and the staff is competant and friendly. The ambience is such that its almost as if you were staying at your own private retreat.

A five hour drive from the capital San Jose or a quick 40 minute flight by the local air-service Sansa which lands on a dirt airstrip adjoining the palm-lined beach below the hotel.

Staying at the Guanamar is a lifetime experience and very affordable.
