“My husband loved this property.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2013

We stayed one night here as The Fenix, next door, was fully booked.

The price was right; breakfast was included; the staff was very accommodating; it was on the beautiful beach; the pool was wonderful and the room was clean and comfortable.

We had a very reasonably priced room, with a fan. We had an outdoor patio with chairs and enjoyed it very much as it was quiet and the gardens are lovely. Our friends had a room with a/c (on the second floor of the main building) which was very large and included an outdoor balcony with table and chairs. They were pleased, as were we.

There are a lot of European guests, so you can enjoy your peace and quiet here.

My only negative comments would be that there is no fridge in the rooms and the pool lounges are very uncomfortable/some broken and replacement would be a plus. Also, the included breakfast could be improved upon.

This property is in a wonderful location and overall we enjoyed our stay there very much. We would recommend it to our friends.

I was generally satisfied with my stay. There wasnt a room with airco available so we had a room with a fan. That wasnt comfy for the prive we paid. But waking up while hearing the sea was great! That was a big plus to my stay!

This was our first trip to Costa Rica, we could not have found a more relaxing, quite, clean place to spend the time. The hotel staff is friendly,a little shy to try English. The beach is clean, warm and right there, the bar restaurant is alright for a snack at pool side, but walk to town for your fine dining and entertainment. The gardener is very proud of his work and it shows, beautiful gardens around the entire place. Monkeys, birds, lizards all are right there to enjoy. The pool is well maintained and a great place for kids and adults to cool off. If night life is your thing take a flashlight and walk the beach to town, as the hotel is very quite past 6:00. If you stay out late you will find a large intimidating night guard to greet you, he does his job well, he is friendly to guests that belong at the hotel. The owner is quite and watches the operation from his table by the bar and pool. He speaks very little English, but will greet you and smile if you do. His graciousness shows in his hotel, it's what he has. Get out and enjoy the area there is a lot to do within walking distance. Need a massage on the beach? Right next door on the beech is Danni. What a find and bonus she is great for a massage and local information.

Awesome spot on Playa Samara. Sit in a hammock in the shade of the palms and watch the people walk by and the gentle surf or lay in a lounge chair poolside and gaze at the sun shining on the blue waters of the Pacific. This place really does get a nice breeze as well. The rooms are clean but a bit utilitarian. Our bed was ok for comfort and breakfast was good and tables overlooked the beach. The downside is the apparent owners are a bit unfriendly, made one feel a bit unwelcome. Staff was great though and the separate owner of the restaurant/bar on the property was great.

Las Brisas was a perfect spot to unwind and begin our trip to Costa Rica and Nicaragua. For us, being right on the beach was a must. Our room was basics but quite large and fine. The staff were cordial, but seemed absolutely uninterested. Still, I would return there for the location and value?

Stayed two days the hotel is right on the beach. The beach is nice quite and unspoiled. Rooms could use an update. Restaurant rocks. Pool scene very quiet and relaxed. Guest seem to be hiding through out the day giving a very peacefull feel

We stayed for only one night, thankfully, in January (2013) as we were passing through. As many reviewers noted, the location is ideal and quite beautiful. However, the owner is terrible. He sits in the center of the pool/bar/restaurant area at a wood table (all the surrounding tables are plastic) with his cigarette, guard, drink, and disgusting emphysema cough. While his depressing presence totally ruined my time there, the worst moment was watching him (78 years?) stumble away with a young girl (16 years?) who clearly showed up around 9 pm to escort him out. What a horrible experience.

Room Tip: Don't stay!
