My wife was looking for an intensive Spanish language course and we decided on Samara Language School as the ideal setting for language lessons and beach time. We looked at practically ALL the available locations in Samara as we needed a place to stay for 5 weeks that would be clean, safe, close to the beach and affordable. Alta Vista was indeed a find. Patrick has built 3 very nice, very clean modern condos, minutes from the beach, with a great staff, high security and high speed internet, which allowed me to work from the condo while my wife was going to Spanish classes. The condos back up to a hill so you feel like the wildlife is right next to you and the deck on top of the building is a great place for drinks in the evening. Highly recommended!!

Alta Vista was THE place to stay in Samara. It is gorgeous, spacious, and had everything I could possibly need for a stay to remember. Everything was perfect, the style and decor are so easy to be in, but I have to say my favorite part was the view from the floor to ceiling windows, and going to sleep to the sound of the ocean. Oh, and the monkeys, they were in the surrounding trees, I could watch them for hours. It was all really great. The owner and caretaker were so professional and genuinely concerned with making my stay a happy and pleasant one. I highly recommend Alta Vista!

My wife and I stayed here in Aug. and had a wonderful time. Randall, Beatriz, and Patrick are all very helpful and welcoming. The room was clean, modern, and had all the amenities you would need to have a wonderful stay. The location is quiet and off the beaten path. But steps away from the beach and town. Both Randall and Beatriz can provide you with fresh caught fish for the BBQ. This is a great place to come and enjoy the same comforts of a modern city apartment, while being in a small tranquilo beach town. It's beginning to sound like a broken record but Alta Vista Condos really does embody paradise. We stayed in the Begonia unit from July 11 to 25 with our two teenagers and it was a trip of a life time.

As previous reviews have all stated the condo is under a year old and modern. There’s none of the mustiness that beach properties often have and the kitchen was such a treat to have – especially with teenagers. And the view from the front balcony was outstanding – the pasture out front with an ever changing parade of horses and cows, the morning sunrises (5:45 am) and the beautiful beach (you could hear the surf) – it was all amazing.

It was very helpful to have Beatriz’s bilingual help and we can’t thank Randall enough for all his assistance and ready smile. They are truly ambassadors for Costa Rica.

While the condo is located at the far end of the beach, it really was only a short 10-15 minute (slow) walk to town and there is a small grocery store just up the street it you don’t want to go into town.

We were also impressed with the quality of the food we found at the local restaurants and we didn’t even scratch the surface since we ate our breakfasts and a number of lunches and dinners at the condo. And the two banks in town were never busy when we went in to exchange US dollars to Colones (which I recommend you do as you will get the best exchange rate that way).

Now we can’t wait to come back!
