The Hideaway Hotel is truly a hidden Jewel. My husband and I had a wonderful, relaxing time there in early February. Doug and Rosy, the proprietors do a fabulous job. It starts before you arrive. They will help you with transportation, excursions and any questions. The rooms are large, modern and very clean. But it's the setting that makes this place unique. It's quiet and peaceful with a small pool, great music, and great food. We ate dinner there 3 nights and every meal was excellent. The beautiful beach and clear water ofPlaya Carrillo, is a five minute walk. Playa Samara is one minute from the property and the town of Samara is a cab ride or long walk (40 min) walk. We would definitely recommend to anyone coming to Costa Rica.

My friends and I found Hideaway on Trip Advisor. The reviews were great and spent two nights of our six night trip at Hideaway. The hotel was great and the owners were very hospitable. We arrived at midnight and had a little bit of a challenge finding the little road it's on, but found it nonetheless.

The grounds are covered in gorgeous plants and we saw quite a few lizards. The pool on property is nice if you want a break from the beach.

We watched sunset from the beach which is only a one minute walk away.

The hotel is very small and you get to know the others staying there which was great for us, and just an FYI if that is not your thing. Breakfast comes with your hotel stay which is nice! The little restaurant is open for lunch and dinner, too!

Loved our stay! Would definitely recommend if you are headed to this part of Costa Rica!

Wonderful hidden hotel that lacks for nothing! We came to Playa Samara to fish and thought the Hideaway would just be a nice little place to hangout. We were all quite surprised to find out how great it really was. Rosie and Doug were so great and helpful. We enjoyed the food and especially the ice cream. The kids ate all the strawberry. Doug makes it himself. They also cooked our fish that we caught and we licked our plates cleaned. We had planned to eat at some of the restaurants in Samara but always came back to the hotel to eat. The tuna burger is very good to. We were awaken by the wonderful sounds of birds and howler monkeys. The boys loved looking at the iguanas that roamed around the property. I would reccommend this hotel to anyone. I hope that we get to come back down and visit.

I had a fantastic time at the hideaway hotel. It is clean, new and lovely. The owners are welcoming and ever present with suggestions about things to do in the area. The breakfast was delicious. I ate 3 dinners at the hotel and they were all great - lots of non meat options too!
Other guests were friendly and I felt it was a comfortable place to meet new people and share a meal with them.
I highly recommend the Hotel Hideaway and hope I can come back again.
