We had secured a good flight deal from NYC as the Liberia airport is new, so as per usual we checked Tripadvisor to see what our options were. Hotel Villa Belmar was ranked very highly, and on reading the comments we decided to go ahead and book it. We were not disappointed. Felix is the ubiquitous owner who is always available should you need anything. Towels are freely available behind the open bar space, and all drinks are $2 (beer, soda, water etc.) to make it easier to tote up the final bill. The wifi extends mainly to the open lobby and sporadically to the swimming pool area, but that still gives you a gorgeous view as per the attached pictures. We felt very safe leaving our belongings (wallets/phones/laptops) in our bags in the lobby since the hotel is not open to the general public, unlike some of the other beach hotel restaurants.

Regarding our room, it was spacious and both beds were a decent size. The air conditioning and fan worked fine. People who we met on other tours paid a lot more for off the beach accommodations and marveled at how close we were to the beach, with massages 50 yards on one side and the Rock Beach Bar 50 yards on the other. All in all I wouldn't hesitate to head back and stay here. FYI a cab from the airport was $55, and $40 on the way back, and it is $15 to go to Coco.

If you want a relaxing stay at a picture-perfect beach at a reasonable price, this is your place! The water is calm and great for swimming, and there is good snorkeling on the north end of the beach. The hotel looks right out over the ocean, and you can easily relax on the lawn, by the pool, or on the beach all day. Felix and Jose, the owners, were so nice and treated us like family. There are good snorkeling areas nearby, and fishing as well. We stayed in the apartment, which had a great view of the ocean. This is a little gem of a place!

My wife and I vacationed here for a couple of days in August. The staff at this hotel are unmatched! They were both friendly and helpful. The hotel is maybe 50 feet from the beach and it also has its own pool, but the ocean is only an extra 10 second walk so just go there instead :) Felix, who I believe is the owner, is the nicest guy you will meet on Playa Hermosa (That's not an overstatement). The hotel is clean, the showering water is hot, the breakfest is perfect and the views are wonderful. You will not be disappointed with this hotel!

We arrived one day prior to being able to check in to our time share, so my girlfriend found this place online...and we were very pleasantly surprised. Located right on the beach in Playa Hermosa, Costa Rica...Hotel Villa Belmar is a great little Bed and Breakfast. Complete with a pool and outdoor shower to rinse off in before entering in from the beach which is right out the hotel's back gate, they offer approximately an intimate setting with breakfast included and a bar and kitchen catering to guests.

The owners, Felix and Jose are originally from Sevilla, Spain (hence the name Sevilla Resort) and they are extremely personable and willing to accommodate. Many of the dishes on the modest menu are Spanish influenced and all are fresh, delicious and reasonably priced! The rooms range from modest to full kitchenettes. They have air conditioning and overhead fans. The time of year we came (July...C.R.'s winter) meant that we were woken up by 5:30 am to sunrise and birds and wildlife buzzing outside.

While not all the frills of a big hotel chain, it's the perfect place for anyone who wants to just chill out in a welcoming environment in a tropical setting...having the beach at your doorstep! Would definitely come back and recommend highly!!
