This little sushi haven is a modern gem in an otherwise antiquated, small Costa Rican beach town. Refreshing and delightful, the small shop plays inviting, fun music that lures customers into a chic, modern and cool restaurant. This restaurant is perfect for the tourist or ex-pat looking for a little reprise from the "platos typicales" served at most of the local restaurants in Flamingo, Portrero or Brasilito.
And the sushi is delicious! Try the Skinny Roll or the Nevado Roll, two of my favorites. The Spicy Tuna is spiced to order - the chef (also the owner) asked how hot we'd like it - and the result was perfect. In addition to mouthwatering food, Temptation Sushi also serves red and white Sangria, perfectly refreshing for the hot Costa Rican days. Care for a sake bomb? Temptation can accommodate that too. Happy Hour is from 5-6pm on weekdays, where you can get 2-for-1 sushi rolls. What a great deal!!
Also, this place is unique in that you'll find mostly Ticos eating here, not traveling Americans, Canadians or Europeans. I like that. It's a refreshing change to the other restaurants here where you see only Ticos working, not enjoying the restaurants. When I travel, I want to experience the culture, not other tourists.
All in all, this is a great spot. The owner is friendly, the food is flavorful, and the atmosphere is, you guessed it, Pura Vida!
