Cuisines: Costa Rican
Description: Restaurant Estero Azul is located near Flamingo on your way to Potrero. Before you turn right at the beach at Restaurant Plemar keep on going straight all way to the back of the road (about 100m). You'll find a fisherman's house with a small eating place next to the beach. Here they'll serve you the catch of the day without paying Flamingo prices. This google search (El Estero Azul Playa Flamingo) has little information but at least lets you know it's legit. GREAT PLACE!

“Ceviche”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2012

Truly a local casual restaurant right on the beach. My husband's favorite Ceviche and the coldest beer.

“Amazing find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2012

This place is on the side of the road, by the ocean. The staff is so friendly, and we had amazing fresh juice and chicken and rice. Perfect for lunch and it has an amazing view.

“The ultimate Costa Rican typical food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2012

This is your dream restaurant - a little place right on the beach with home cooking that is an exceptionally good example of typical Costa Rican cuisine. We go about once a week.

“Delicious Fish on the Beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2012

We had some great experiences with Sodas in Costa Rica when we walked from the hotel to this very unassuming restaurant. The friendly service was unmatched and the whole red snapper, big enough for 2 was unbelievably good (even when we asked the head to be removed before serving). It is a Tico delight and way less expensive than the restaurants up the road. We would recommend, however, that you dine before sunset because the bugs drawn by the light can be a bit annoying (its an open air restaurant as are most in CR.)

“True hidden tico experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2012

Started going here about a year ago when we discovered it riding bikes on the beach. We live here full time and keep going back. Great food! They seems to cater to the owners of the private boats anchored in the bay in front of the place. They come in get food and go back to doing their boating thing.

Very deceiving location when not come to it from the water. Down a little rutted alley past some small tico homes to the end of the road (100yds.) but on the beach. The whole experience is like Hemmingway in Key West in the 1920's.
