We spent five days at the Rancho Armodillo and Rick and Debbie made us very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble and Rick was full of advice and guidance to help us make the most of our time in Costa Rica. This included helping us with our itinerary after we left! The pool and its surroundings are sublime. The breakfast perfect! When we return to Costa Rica it will be difficut not to make our way to the Rancho Armodillo!

Stayed for 4 nights in January. Rick & Debbie were friendly and helpful hosts & helped us make the most of our stay in Coco.

Just like staying with a pretty cool relative.

Would love to return.

Thanks guys.

Stayed in Playa del Coco for a week of beach, sun and diving. That's exactly what we got. The estate is fabulous, breakfast is great and staff is very helpful. Although it is beautiful it is expensive according to Costa Rican standards. A room for wo persons per night in the high season costed us 140 dollars. A three star hotel in the city would have costed us not more then 50 dollars. And our room was noisy. We could hear all sounds in the (only) room next to us when it was occupied which was not so comfortable.

We went diving with Rich Coast Diving (www.richcoastdiving.com) which was great. We had dinner in hotel restaurant Pato Loco Inn which was very funny. Food was good, at reasonable prices and the staff is just like the Fawlty Towers cast.
We already did lots of other activities in Costa Rica outside Playa del Coco so that's why we can't give you other good recommendations.

All in all, it's beautiful, it's pricey and can be a little bit noisy.

We stayed at the Rancho Armadillo in late January. The owners are fantastic people and make the whole stay worthwhile. The small town nearby of Playa del Coco is nothing to speak of but that's not the reason you're in Costa Rica. The sidetrips are what it's all about. We used tours-your-way.com who's owner is Mainor Lara Bustos and he was fantastic!!! He made our whole stay in Costa Rica so enjoyable. We preferred Rancho Armadillo over Fiesta Premier which is an all inclusive nearby. Any questions, email me at saalfeldk@hotmail.com.

We stayed at the Rancho Armadillo the last week of January, 2007. Rick and Debbie were great, and very helpful. Our room was great, and we personally loved the "rain shower." Rancho Armadillo is not quite a hotel, not quite a resort, not quite a bed and breakfast, and not quite home. But, it is a little bit of all those things. Very relaxing and no huslte bustle. We would stay there again, and I strongly recommend that anyone looking for something other than a typical hotel/resort experience, this is where you want to go. Highly recommend.
