I gave this property five stars because I used to live in CR and know that "cabina" here means extremely basic accommodations compared to what most Americans are used to. No hot water, no fancy decor, small, cement floors, a fan, a place to sleep, essentially. And these are just that. What makes this place special is the location, the adorable family, the restaurant, the tranquility, the safety. If you want true Costa Rica, this is your place, just know. ;) The pool was a bonus and there was at least one room that offered a/c but you won't need it.
PLEASE, the next person to go here, bring the young boy that lives here a soccer ball!!!! Our hearts broke with the limp disaster of a ball that he was trying to impress us with and there there was nowhere to run and get him one or we surely would have. He did, however, proudly show us this small bottle of glue that he was getting ready to dump in the ball to seal all the holes... it just came straight from the tree! He was also very proud of the inflator needle that he kept with him to blow the ball up - with his mouth. There was not a trace of the outer covering remaining on this poor ball...
If you make an attempt at speaking Spanish or if you already do, you will really have an amazing time here. Be sure to get up at 6 to help milk the cows!
We had the place to our selves and would absolutely recommend.
