El Sitio looks good on the outside but inside the rooms are outdated, poorly maintained and priced slightly more than should be. The people at the front desk seem to get annoyed if asked too many questions. We stayed 4 nights at the end of our Costa Rica tour to rest and found the hotel to be less than comfortable.

We heard stories of people getting robbed in the parking lot and after
reading the reviews I believe this to be a major problem that the Hotel has not taken care of, like many other things.

The service at the bar/restaurant was not the Best. Make sure you add up your bill, cause we found mistakes on three of our tabs. Hope the next time is better!

I went to the hotel to ask for a room. The counter where you put your hands- elbows was filthy. Also the receptionists did not speak english (and this is the Worst Western) sorry Best Western. The receptionist was not dressed in a presentable manner. The rooms are very cheap looking and because they want to save electric costs the hotel is dark inside. Also the cheap low class casino they have outside made me feel I was walking into a dump. I left for the other Best Western Las Espuelas. Las Espuelas was dignified looking, good receptionist, plenty of light and you get your money's worth.

If you stay here it is because you are desperate and nowhere else has a vacancy. I read the reviews and didnt expect the palce to be grand though the rooms are outdated by 40 years (and so are the beds) and the security appears to be a possible issue. The hotel bar/casino was blasting music until 4AM. I dont expect all hotels to be like a standard marriott or Hilton room especially when a lower rate is being charged, thogh this is an absolute joke, even by some of the lower costs Costa rica standards. i would never recommend or stay here ever again. my surprise on check out was the agent trying to add on bottled water supposedly purchased in the restaurant which we had not done. i refused, and thankfully it was not much an issue. They logged the issue in a big fat book that appeared to be other similar refusals to pay. Take a word of advice, book anywhere else and take that one hour cab drive to the airport, it will be worth the 75 cab ride over this excuse for a Best Western.

What a DUMP and DIRTY rooms. My bed had hair in the sheets and the sheet are so thin you can see the bedspread pattern through them. Talk about bedspread it looked like it has been on the bed since the 70's. I also had hair in the shower. We had 2 towels for 3 people. 2 towels total and the towels had holes in them. Breakfast was include but i wasn't told that till I tired to pay them for it at the front desk and the girl told me it was included. That wasn't the only info she gave me wrong and screwed me up on. DO NOT STAY here unless you like sleeping in a dirty room. I think the smoking rooms are nicer~well the besspread looked newer through the door when i looked. BUT that doesn't make the room any cleaner and thank GOD I had my own pillow. We decide we just would not look at anything more to get grossed out about. Motel 6 looks like a 5 star hotel next to this place. Belief me I wish I was in a motel 6 instead. The wall to the out side is glass. Glass door, windows, and panel. They do not seal and we heard the base from the disco till 2~3am. I quit looking at the clock but then the holwer monkey stared after the base stopped somewhere around 2am. What a nightmare place this is!!! There has to be a nicer hotel!!! Where does the flight crews stay when they have an overnight stay??? That is the hotel to stay in. Does anyone know this??
