We spent one night of a planned 6 at the Hotel Tilawa. We didn't turn down the bed until late, and only then did we notice the little blood stains on the sheets. By that point, it was too late to go anywhere else since it was well after dark, rainy, windy, and our Spanish was rusty. So we slept there anyway. My legs started itching intensly in the middle of the night. I figured it was a mosquito bite from earlier in the day. I woke up in the morning have scratched myself raw - and apparently killed a bed bug in my zest. It was stuck to my leg. I don't need the fanciest place, but bed bugs are unacceptable to me!

Not to mention the wind and rain were so intense it was coming through the windows and I had to move my suitcase as the puddle grew.
