Just got back from a week long family trip to Costa Rica. Spent two days at Pacuare Lodge. Didn't know what to expect given that you must raft in and out, and not having any electricity in the cabins. It is first class all the way. The staff is extremely friendly. The food is outstanding -- hard to believe that they can provide such tasty treats (and drinks) in the middle of nowhere. The cabins were wonderful -- large and open, with both inside and outside showers. My only complaint is the lack of electricity -- hard to do any reading by candle light. The river level was low, so the rafting was fairly calm (mostly 2-3 rating, with a couple 4s thrown in). Also, did zip lining -- quite fun. It was definitely the highlight for our trip to Costa Rica.
