Loved this hotel. Staff is friendly and attentive and helpful with advice and driving directions. Hotel room was very clean and even included fresh flowers from their lovely garden all throughout the room and bathroom. Nice pool and they will make sure hot tub is heated for you. Room even included 2 free cocktails from their bar. Has a nice garden to stroll through and dining tables out near the poolside. Hotel is nicely decorated. The only draw back was that the bed seemed firmer then most in Costa Rica. Otherwise, it's a wonderful place to stay and it's located in a beautiful valley.

This is Jana from Casa Turire. I just wanted to thank you on behalf of all the staff for your wonderful comment on our hotel.
I wanted to take this opportunity to let you know that we are working on resolving the problem of the firm matress in all the rooms!
We hope to have you with us in the future.

Our room was very large and comfortable, although the room overlooked
the driveway and was thus noisy. The grounds are beautiful. The horseback riding was very poorly led. The food was uneven - great at some meals, bland at others. The staff were friendly.

Overall, this was one our best hotel experiences. The staff is incredibly friendly - the grounds are stunning. Our room was beautiful - the only thing I would have changed is the bathroom which could have been a little more modern. The chef at the restaurant was extremely accomodating, since we are vegetarian. Everynight he came out and discussed our meal with us and whether that would suit us. The staff was also very helpful in arranging activities such as white water rafting and transportation to other parts of CR. Staying here is money well spent!:)

  • Liked — The grounds and the room.
  • Disliked — The bathroom - could have been cleaner/more modern.

We have wonderful memories of this small hotel near Turrialba. We stayed at Casa Turire in April 2005 for 6 nights with our two sons (4 yrs and 10 months)and had a fantastic time. The staff were the friendliest we've ever encountered. We got a spacious suite for a very friendly rate and the food was incredibly reasonable. There's plenty to amuse small kids - climbing frame, swimming pool, macaw parrots and horses. We also took some short excursions to nearby botanical gardens and bird sanctuaries. When the kids are older we want to go back to the Turire and do the white water rafting. On the way back to San Jose we took the cable car through the rainforest and that worked out really well.

We are three ladies traveling together that chose Hotel Casa Turire for our last 2 nights in Costa Rica. We had wanted to see the Basilica in Cartago, Lankaster Gardens and the Orosi Valley and it seemed like a logical place
to stay after a long day of touring.

We took the (bumpy)back roads to get there from the Ruins at Ujarras and at first it seemed like it was too far out of the way (from the highway it is quite convenient from SJO) but when we arrived we were very glad we made the trip!

We had 2 adjoining standard rooms and the rooms are well appointed and a true bargain.

The service was top notch, the staff was efficient and friendly.

We thought we'd go horse back riding or take an excursion but we were enjoying the hotel so much that we arranged for massages and spent the day hanging out at the hotel.

The bird watching is great, we also saw a basilik lizard and a sleeping 2 toed sloth. The gardens are beautiful and well tended. There are lots of nooks and crannies, indoors and out for relaxing and enjoying the views.

The pool and whirlpool are very nice. The dining room is beautiful and you can also choose to eat on the terrace or out on the pool deck.

The food was fresh & well prepared with fairly good selection.

You can rent bikes, kayaks or canoe or horseback ride right at the hotel.
You can arrange for massages, facials and other beauty services at very reasonable prices right at the hotel.

I plan to return and spend at least 3 days to go whitewater rafting and tour the area!
