August 16th & 17th 2005
We are three ladies traveling together that chose Hotel Casa Turire for our last 2 nights in Costa Rica. We had wanted to see the Basilica in Cartago, Lankaster Gardens and the Orosi Valley and it seemed like a logical place
to stay after a long day of touring.
We took the (bumpy)back roads to get there from the Ruins at Ujarras and at first it seemed like it was too far out of the way (from the highway it is quite convenient from SJO) but when we arrived we were very glad we made the trip!
We had 2 adjoining standard rooms and the rooms are well appointed and a true bargain.
The service was top notch, the staff was efficient and friendly.
We thought we'd go horse back riding or take an excursion but we were enjoying the hotel so much that we arranged for massages and spent the day hanging out at the hotel.
The bird watching is great, we also saw a basilik lizard and a sleeping 2 toed sloth. The gardens are beautiful and well tended. There are lots of nooks and crannies, indoors and out for relaxing and enjoying the views.
The pool and whirlpool are very nice. The dining room is beautiful and you can also choose to eat on the terrace or out on the pool deck.
The food was fresh & well prepared with fairly good selection.
You can rent bikes, kayaks or canoe or horseback ride right at the hotel.
You can arrange for massages, facials and other beauty services at very reasonable prices right at the hotel.
I plan to return and spend at least 3 days to go whitewater rafting and tour the area!
