I wish I'd read the one other review of this hotel before staying there; other hotels in town were full, but had I known what the Wagelia was like before we booked in I'd have driven a long way to find somewhere else.
The rooms are awful, the bar and restaurant were closed (whether permanently or not I don't know) and the pool they proudly display in gude books and brochures was empty, and surrounded by broken tiles and exposed pipework. it is without doubt the worst hotel I've ever stayed in.
But its sister hotel, the Wagelia Turrialba, in the centre of town, is really very pleasant.
