This is a treat for the seasoned traveller with friends in high places..not only do you inhale the mountain air and gaze across the vast valley below you are also guest of an elegant and cultured family as this is a converted family plantation. A unique and warmly welcoming oasis.

Disclaimer: well I got married there so it is hard to find bad things. The place is breathtaking, the food and the service were wonderful. It is a little piece of history, a different experience. This was an amazing place to get married, but there is a risk, if it rains it is not so nice. It was raining like crazy the day before and after the wedding. The day of the wedding though... well look at my pictures. If you want to get married, one tip, we liberated 500 Morpho's these huge blue butterflies, this was really amazing and became the main theme of the wedding. This was wonderfull

There are no words to describe this amazing combination of scenery-location and personalized, top class service. For sure the owners do it out of hobby, because this involvement is rarely seen in the hotel business. The Hacienda is a collection of antiquities of spanish style & French province style, full of travel, cooking and house & gardening books EVERYwhere. Although Turrialba is a place with great interest from volcano/activities point of view, it is just enough to relax on the beautiful veranda and gardens to enjoy life.
Only minor disadvantage, this place is not very suitable for young kids (they may find it boring), but by booking a tour in the area, this can be overcome.
Final hint - The hammingbirds are ALIVE and singing !Enjoy !

WOW, this is a great place to visit. You arrive with the car and you find nothing so special. You enter it and first of all they make you feel welcome from the bottom of their hart.
Few steps further you experience a fantastic view into the valley. Comfortable interiors and a very friendly service again. The coffee and sandwich served by the owner himself free of Charge.
In the evening the most romantic dinner on a terrace that beat just about everything. ( don’t go for the food ), it’s good but that is not what it is all about.
