“Only one of it's kind in Orosi”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2013

Stayed at this small and friendly lodge on the basis of previous recommendations and were not disappointed. We were greeted by Andreas and a nice cold home made lemonade and mint and the service was excellent throughout. Unfussy but very clean rooms with all the necessary features. Good parking and nice breakfast all made for a nice stay.

The rooms are really nicely furnished - in every detail. Cou can brew delicious coffee in the kitchen located in the room (and buy more coffee and other souvenirs in the shop of the lodge). The owners were really friendly and helpul. We only stayed there for a stop-over, but would have enjoyed to spend more time.
Don´t miss the great breakfast!

We made an unplanned stop in Orosi and stayed 1 night in the chalet at Orosi lodge. The Chalet was really spacious clean and comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic as was the coffee. Sebastian was very helpful in orienting us to the area

I recently spent 6 wks in CR, never staying more than 5 nights in one place. All things considered I put Orosi Lodge at the top of those I stayed in. I was on the 2nd floor, everything was as advertised. A very good breakfast WAS included, contrary to another review on this site. The owner couple, plus son were all wonderful and genuinely interested in being helpful and in running a class place. The pride they have in the small lodge was evident from the time I entered town and saw the first sign until I left 4 days later. If I return to this area they will have my business.

Room Tip: Stay on the 2nd floor and enjoy the view.

We found a brochure for this lovely hotel and took a chance. I was sick and needed a comfortable place to recouperate in a moderate climate and Orosi Lodge provided that and more. Andreas and Connie greeted us with a glass of cool mint tea and smiles. I thought this is the place for me. They provided wonderful breakfasts all day long and yummy homemade pastries with real organic coffee or a selection of teas. Sebastian provided lots of comic relief and great service. Beds are great and it's quiet at night. We stayed a week! Loved the simplicity of Orosi. We will go back.

Room Tip: If you're staying for more than a night, I suggest you go for a second floor room. I liked the...

Very nice lodge with friendly and efficient service. We were greeted by Sebastian who provided very helpful information that added to our enjoyment of this beautiful valley. The room (lower level) was spacious and comfortable. If you have a choice stay in a second floor room for the view as well as noise due to "thin" ceilings. Breakfasts are very good. Enjoyed easy hiking through Tepanti park as well viewing Irazu.

A very good place, especially, to begin or end your trip if flying to/from relatively nearby San Jose. Warm hospitality, excellent breakfast, easy access to an out-of-the way rainforest (Tapantí) and the rim of Costa Rica's tallest volcano( Irazú). Your hosts can arrange the most interesting, least 'touristy' visit to a (organic) coffee plantation that I know of.The rooms are spacious, bright and airy, quiet and relaxing. The prices very reasonable, even in the high season. Parking is free.
