“Great place to start/end Costa Rica”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2012

Nice little lodge run by a German family. Very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is awesome! The village of Orosi is very small and quiet. We started here our trip and we loved costa rica right away! Rooms are spacious and very clean, warm water and very nicely decorated. Matresses are good but firm (which I liked very much!). Try a real costa rican cigar with some centurion ron on the porch. It's a bliss!

Stayed her for a night in August 2012 on a trip with C2C adventures.
A lovely oasis, hidden away on a side street. Warm welcome from friendly owners. The inner courtyard is lovely. The rooms are large and beautifully presented. Our room had a basic kitchen area too.
There is free WiFi and a free to use PC in reception. The cakes looked lovely....the breakfast certainly was. A choice of fruit/granola or bacon/egg. Both were great and provided with fresh bread & great coffee.

We just loved Orosi Lodge and Orosi valley...both are really worth a visit! The rooms are large, very nicely decorated with beautiful polished timber floors, a fridge and coffee maker with great coffee! The top rooms are fantastic for sitting out and enjoying the view. The lodge has a lush, attractive garden at the base of the steps up to the top rooms and a fantastic little coffee shop on site. Sebastian was a great host while we were there and prior to our 2 night stay, every e-mail (and all my questions!) were answered promptly by Connie and Andy which was such a great help. The lodge is right in Orosi town itself and easy walk to the supermarket, bank and eateries. We HIGHLY recommend the Orosi Lodge for a fantastic and extremely economical place to stay and the beautiful valley itself should be on everyones list of area's to visit outside of San Jose.

Room Tip: the upper rooms with a nice balcony, view and chairs are the best

We stayed at the Orosi Lodge for two nights and it was one of the best experiences of our trip. The weather is a constant 75 degrees and no bugs. The room was large with a raised ceiling which made it seem even more spacious. It had a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker and a safe. Views were beautiful as you are up on a hill - and there were two chairs outside the door to sit and take it all in. The owners were lovely people, very friendly and generous in helping us make our plans. The best thing they did for us was explain that the road through the mountains going south was now well paved and the only reason it is called the "Highway of Death" is that once the people took oxcarts through the mountains and if they didn't get out of the higher elevations by night, sometimes they froze to death. That information itself was more valuable than the cost of the room - which I think was $49/night. Yes, there were some roosters and chickens making their noises early in the morning and some dogs barking, but not enough to be a real problem - and I am a very light sleeper. I would definitely recommend this lodge (and also the wonderful breakfasts that they offer at very inexpensive cost).

Room Tip: Second floor for the best views.

I'm adding this hotel to my short list of favorite p,aces to stay in Costa Rica. Kinda hard to find, but well worth the effort. Sebastian and Andreas are delightful hosts who will warmly greet you and assist you in any way....from restaurant suggestions to fun things to do in the area. This boutique hotel is value priced and worth every cent. The rooms are co,orful and comfortable. I love room #2...it is right across from the hammock where the fountain could lull to sweet dreams. The rooms upstairs give yo a view of the surrounding countryside.

Can you say Bliss?

Orosi Lodge does not just offer the best and I realaly mean THE best breakfast in Costa Rica, you will also get a price for your room which is more than fair for the value you get, large, very clean and nice rooms. Thoughtfully decorated and the topfloor rooms offer stunning views, weather permitting, of the valley and the volcanos. The owners will advise you on what to see and where to go without trying to sell you a tour or any add-ons. Parking is available right in front or a cross the street in a gated small parking lot. The rooms have hotwater showers, free coffee and a coffee maker, a fridge with mineral water and beer and enough room inside so that you can bring your own things as well. WiFi is available throughout the property. Just the perfect place to stay in Orosi.

Room Tip: top floor rooms have a wonderful view from the shared balcony.

What a lovely little hotel and restaurant! Friendly, helpful owners, great location, comfortable beds, and big rooms. All for a super price. Breakfast is really good and inexpensive ($6 or $7 US). I definitely recommend staying here if you are in the Orosi area and looking for somewhere clean, comfortable, and simple.

Room Tip: Upper floors have better views, and I imagine they are quieter (I had an upper room).
