“very nice park”

the drive is a little hard but the views and the people you see on the way - that's the experience. we drove by car and you must have a GPS becasue there are no signs along the road!

“An amazing day”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2012

Seeing Volcan Poas is amazing, looking down into the crater of an active volcano is an unforgettable experience and a must see when in CR. It is a short drive from San Jose. We did a day tour which stopped at a coffee plantation, waterfalls, the cloud forest, and of course, the volcano. My daughter and I were at the Grand Canyon in March and felt the same awe on this trip.

great view 30 minutes before the rains came. Be prepared to do some uphill walking to experience the "prize sight"

“Beautiful...hope you get the sun!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2012

I went with my brother and small niece and loved it. If you get a clear day go for it, otherwise you won't see anything but the walk is really nice. Take a camera!

“Best to go in the early morning before the clouds set in.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2012

The walk takes about 15 minutes on a level, even path. The color and size of the Poas hot pool of vocanic liquid was beautiful and we were told we were lucky to have such a clear view. The bus ride from San Jose was picturous passing coffee, palm, flower plantations. Continue up to the Lake and then do the loop. It's a nice walk.
