“Totally fabulous!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2012

Everything about this resort is SUPER! From staff, to views, food, outdoor shower, couldn't find a thing we didn't like. The room was breathtaking, we didn't want to leave the resort. We never used the inside shower. They surprised my husband with a birthday cake which was special. Highly recommend this resort for any occasion. We can understand why it's rated 6th in the world.

My husband and I spent the first 4 days of our honeymoon here. It was simply perfect; everything a honeymoon should be. The staff and service are world class and the food was great. The casitas were gorgeous and secluded. Great excursions available. The best hotel I've ever stayed at and well deserving of it's awards and distinctions. Highly recommend.

My girlfriend and I spent 6 nights recently. It was pretty much perfect. We arranged activities through the front desk for each day - all went perfectly. The food is excellent - dinner will run around $70-100 for 2 using the daily specials and a little more a la carte - but they were consistently excellent so much that we didn't see much reason to eat elsewhere. Breakfast is free and there's a large buffet selection.
It's pretty much all couples with just a few families.

It seemed to be a much more relaxed atmosphere than Tabacon - which you have to visit - but we were happy to be returning to Nayara after a few hours in the hot springs.

My husband and I stayed at Nayara Hotel back in April of 2012 to celebrate our 20th anniversary. It was an amazing experience ! The hotel staff did a great job of welcoming us upon our arrival. We were greeted with "welcome drinks" as soon as we got there. The staff were always courteous and very helpful. Our Nayara Suite more than met our expectations ! It is every bit as lovely as the pictures show. We had a gorgeous view from our balcony of the volcano as well. We had booked our room during one of their low season specials so our breakfast and dinner were included daily. The breakfast buffet was great and had a wide variety of foods available. Some local fare was included daily as well as traditional breakfast foods. Everything we tried was wonderful. The servers were always so friendly and happy to help in any way they could. An added bonus was they always had fresh sandwiches and subs pre-wrapped on the breakfast buffet for people to take if you were going out sight seeing that day. We also ate dinner every night at Altimira Restaurant at the resort. All our meals were fabulous. Be sure to try the guacamole that they make table side for you at your request. The food was so good at the resort we chose to eat dinner there every night. Also try the sushi restaurant at the resort as well. We went there for happy hour each night before dinner and enjoyed many of the samples of sushi they brought out for us to try. The natural beauty surrounding Nayara is nothing short of breathtaking!! There are numerous bunnies that hop around the property and were just adorable. Also enjoyed the 2 birds that sit outside the pool and bar area. The hotel manager Jorge was great as well ! We had the pleasure of meeting him and having a nice chat with him as well. It was obvious to us that he really cares about meeting the guests and making sure they have an enjoyable stay. This trip was an amazing way to celebrate our 20th anniversary and we can't wait to visit Nayara again !!

We spent 3 nights at the Nayara Hotel earlier this month. The hotel is absolutely beautiful. The staff is super friendly and the service is amazing. The rooms are very large and have all the amenities. When we arrived we were surprised to see they gave us a room with 2 beds instead of 1 king. They took care of it for us and not only gave us a king room, but upgraded us to a suite. I've never seen a bathroom so big. We had a wrap around porch with a jacuzzi and with all the foliage around, it was completely private. We loved the outdoor shower!

The weather was cloudy and rainy. We couldn't see the volcano from our room because it was so overcast...and it didn't matter to us because the resort and room were so beautiful and so tranquil. On a very rainy day, we cancelled our adventure tours and got massages at their spa instead. I had the best hot stone massage I ever had. Many thanks to Norma for such an amazing massage.

I highly recommend this resort for couples. It is quiet and simply breathtaking.

Room Tip: I believe we stayed in #38 which was a suite with a view. Very nice. There are grasshoppers or cri...

My husband and I spent four nights at Nayara for our honeymoon before moving on to Tamarindo. I have to admit, I was blown away by this hotel. It was positioned right next to the Arenal volcano and this allowed for a breathtaking view from our bungalow every morning. We were lucky enough to be assigned to a bungalow that was off the beaten path (number 15) so we were tucked away from everything. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. One night we called and asked where we could get ice and they delivered it to our door within a few minutes. Every bungalow has a Jacuzzi tub that sits out on the private porch. I utilized the tub every night and relaxed. Another plus was that they offered free phone calls to the US. This came in handy if we needed to contact any of our family or friends. When we arrived, they had placed rose petals everywhere with a sign that said "Happy Honeymoon". They also provided us with a free bottle of wine to celebrate. The pool was beautiful as were the three sectioned off hot tubs. They also had a macaw that spent the majority of her time sitting in the trees near the pool. She could say "hola" and allowed you to come close enough to her to take great pictures. The food was excellent. We ate at the sushi restaurant as well as the main restaurant and were provided with excellent service. We'd highly recommend the guacamole that was handmade right in front of us. I can't say enough how much we loved this place and the staff. I'd return here in a heartbeat and would recommend this place to anyone that was looking for a romantic getaway. After our stay at Nayara we moved on to the Capitan Suizo in Tamarindo where we were not impressed... I desperately wish that we would have ended at Nayara as this place blew the Capitan out of the water. I suppose I would have to agree with a few of the other posts that stated we were spoiled at Nayara. This statement is very true!

Room Tip: If you are looking for a more secluded bungalow, request number 15. The view of the volcano is exce...

Where do I begin? This is one of the nicest resorts we have ever stayed in. From the staff to the rooms to the restaurants, spa and all it is truly the best in the area. We stayed in # 39 - Nayara Suite is was a great location. Every Nayara Suite on the property is incredible. The Casitas are huge with a wrap around deck, jacuzzi and all. I was very spoiled. We loved it so much in 2011 we came back one year later. From the time we arrived to the time we left we were treated like true guests. The staff is amazing - Thank you so much Jorge for taking such great care of us. Thank you so much Esteban - you truly are the best! We miss you already:( Words can't describe how much we appreciate your generous hospitality. Thank you Lee & Carlotta for hanging out with us during our stay:) !! Thank you Elguin at the Nostalgia Wine Bar for truly making our special engagement celebration something I will always hold true to heart. You guys are the best!!!! I could go on and on about this resort. If you are ever planning on staying in Arenal you must stay at this hotel. You will not be disapointed! I will be posting pics soon. See you soon!!!!!! 2013 or 2014. Can't wait!

Room Tip: Every room beautiful! We stayed in 39 which was a Nayara Suite with a gorgeous location. You will...
