We stayed 3 nights at Casa Luna during our most recent visit to CR. We had a second floor room with a great view of the volcano. We were able to spot toucans hanging out in the trees just past the edge of the hotel's property. Volcanoes and toucans, classic Costa Rica! It is very easy to schedule tours at the front desk. The location is great, it is only a five dollar cab ride into town and it is very easy to walk to the La Fortuna waterfall from the hotel. We only had a quick lunch at the hotel restaurant one day, the ceviche was very good but dinner looks extremely overpriced. Everything about our stay was great, this is a great base for exploring Arenal while being surrounded by peace and beauty.

Great hotel! The grounds are lush and green and have an awesome view of the Arenal volcano. Request a balcony room as the balconies are huge and have nice chairs to enjoy the view. Breakfast was wonderful each morning. Our first morning they offered pancakes and omelets cooked to order; however, they don't do that on the weekends. My only complaint is that there isn't a hot tub and the pool isn't heated. The rooms were large with tile floors and huge bathrooms. I would defnitely stay here again.

Casa Luna is located just over a mile from La Fortuna and faces the impressive Arenal Volcano. It is quiet, with attractive gardens which attract a wide variety of birds. The rooms are sizeable, with better views from the first floor. Some of the furnishing was a little odd - there was no hanging space and the tv was at ground level (not that this bothered me); and there was no room security box (you could leave valuables at reception). Breakfast was a good buffet; I did not eat dinner at the hotel (there are some excellent restaurants in La Fortuna, a $5 taxi ride away). Overall, for a hotel only aspiring to 3-star, this was pretty good.

Casa Luna Hotel and Spa exceeded my expectations in every way. From the wonderful staff and fantastic food at the restaurant, to the smiling and friendly housekeepers, there was nothing overlooked at this lovely hotel. The gardens are exquisite. We were able to see a variety of insects and lizards. The view of Arenal Volcano from the balcony is breathtaking, and the location itself lends wonderfully to stargazing at night.
I was lucky enough to visit the spa twice during my stay. I indulged in a Swedish massage with a coffee scrub and aloe vera mask on my first visit. After that I tried the hot stone massage. The staff was professional and very skilled.
I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel to anyone wishing to visit this part of such a beautiful country.
