“RainForest wonderland”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

individual houses set in the rainforest, oh my. every day a new animal designed with the towels. Rain like showers. mood lighting. canopy beds. plenty of space. a pool and pool bar to die for. spent plenty of time floating around, drinking, and socializing with all walks of life other guests. Met people from just about everywhere. on site restaurant with outstanding food. breakfast buffet was sensational. 1 word of warning, it rains in the rainforest! Ok 5 words. Have a great time.

After a ten year wait to finially visit Costa Rica, Mountain Paradise was the perfect place to put up our feet and relax after a volcano hike and zipline adventure. What an incredible welcome to a week in Costa Rica for my birthday. The view of the Volcano was unbeatable and the staff deserves high praise. Douglas and Julio became instant friends, and offered us great advise on local attractions. We loved our time at Mountain Paradise from the flavorful breakfast to soaking in the heated pools.

Did I mention you can see the Valcano from every inch of the resort!!

We have been two times at this place, I can only say it's beautiful and worth the price. Rooms are beautiful, surrounded by plenty of nature and exquisite decorations. The bathrooms are gorgeous and you won't get out of the shower for sure, you can also enjoy the hot tub while watching Arenal volcano. The have iPod ready radio and the bed...oh god.

In terms of the service received, you won't be disappointed. This hotel is Nayara's brother, right next to it, it offers almost the same but a little bit cheaper.

They serve breakfast for free in the morning, but if you're coming from the states you'll have less options to eat as they serve "Pinto", they do have other options like eggs, milk, yogurt, fruits and cereals but are very limited if you're looking for pancakes, omelettes and other options. They do have them but for a different price not included in your regular rate.

Pools are good, too hot for me, they have a small one that has colder water but too small for adults and there might be children playing there all day long since it is better for them.

All personnel are friendly and they will do anything to keep you pampered.

I would definitively recommend this hotel to couples, small families and business travelers. Not good for one night stay and you'll want to spend more time on it.

It is a little bit far from la fortunate but they have a shuttle that takes you there if needed.

Wow, the rooms are awesome. From the moment you arrive, the staff are serving every need. You are greeted with a warm cloth and a drink. We came in the off season so they were working on the pool, so they upgraded our room to a room with a private heated pool. Also, since it was off season, we practically had the place to ourselves. Could not have asked for a better view. Straight out from our bedroom was the volcano. Awesome. The grounds are beautiful and see plenty of birds. The bathrooms have a waterfall shower and are big as another bedroom. The staff was so helpful in arranging our tours. I would go back to this place again.

Room Tip: Rooms that have the view of the volcano.

WOW! Rooms are beautiful, especially the bathroom with the cascading waterfall shower. The bathroom was as large as a lot of bedrooms. Patio with Jacuzzi and rocking chairs was awesome. Pool with bar was amazing and the bartender was great. Dinner on first night was good and breakfast was American or Tico and ample with fruit and juices and bakery items. Really loved the beautiful grounds (well maintained). Would definitely stay here if in the area again. Only drawback would be that it is too far away from the town of LaFortuna to walk. You would have to take a taxi. If you do go to town, make sure to have the pizza at LaPradera across from the plaza.

Room Tip: All rooms are private. If you do not like walking, ask for a room close to pool and restaurant.

We stayed here for 4 nights and couldn't have been happier!

From the moment you arrive and are greeted with a cool towel and beverage, til your departing moments, you are treated exceptionally well.

First off the property is beautiful, with lovely lush grounds and fantastic views of the volcano. Birds singing everywhere, butterflies, gorgeous flowers and fruit trees.

Wonderful pool area with a great wet bar. Fantastic drinks! The Pina Colada with whiskey is a must try!!

Rooms are actually little bungalow type houses, very private feeling and well insulated against sounds from neighbors. We had a lovely patio area with volcano views, rocking chairs and a hot tub. The rooms are very spacious, clean and the bathroom was enormous with a fantastic waterfall/rock shower! Housekeeping staff (though honestly never seen) took great pride in making sure the room was all made up and tidy upon your arrival back to the hotel. They even took the time to make cute little animals/hearts etc...out of the towels and placed fresh flowers in the room everyday. A very nice little touch!

Breakfast (which was incl) was fantastic! A lovely array of meats/cheeses/vegetables/fruits. Cereals, toast, and some wonderful pastries which changed almost daily. Water, fruit juices and coffee too. You also had the option of ordering (also incl) either a typical Costa Rican breakfast or American breakfast. I was in love with the carmelised plantains with a lovely crema type sour cream! Delicious!! I believe breakfast hours were 6:30-10:30 am.

The bar also had snacks that you could order; nachos and such to enjoy at the bar or you could take back to the room. There is a 2nd restaurant on site (though a little ways away so they will give you a lift in a cart) which we dined at 1 night. Again, staff was outstanding, food was solid (buffet type night) and drinks especially the sangria was very good.

They will happily drive you around the property in one of their golf carts if you need a lift.

Every staff member that we passed on property, just walking by us always greeted us, offered us a beverage or some little bit of information. Very friendly and welcoming!

There is a spa on site, but we were so busy exploring we never got to experience it, but considering their high standards, I'm sure it's just lovely.

This hotel gets 5 stars on service!! We would most definitely stay again.

It is a bit of a trek from San Jose - 2.5 - 3.5 hours via transfer depending on traffic/weather, but so worth the distance. Once you are here, La Forutna which has everything you need is only about 10 minutes away.

A true paradise!

Room Tip: Rooms closer to the main lobby will require less walking to the pool and restaurants. The property i...

This Mountain Paradise was exactly that, a paradise, my chalet had a private thermal pool and was the most relaxing place I have ever been, the bathrooms were so cool, with their waterfall showers, so creative. Each chalet has a magnificent view of the volcano. Staff were eager to please and so full of personality and fun. Everything was exceptionally clean. I was travelling alone and I felt safe with the friendly staff. Thank you to all the staff, my beautiful trip to Costa Rica will be a memorable one.

Room Tip: All the chalets are separate, though the pool music can be a little loud, so request a chalet not so...
