I fell in love with this place. We only stayed for two nights and I regret not staying longer. The rooms are private cottages and they are fairly big. The washrooms are huge and have a tacky waterfall shower (which I loved!!!). Also each cottage has a jacuzzi on the porch. It was magical. The pool was great too. Breakfast is included and is served at the hotel's restaurant. The only thing that wasn't outstanding was the quality of the food in the restaurant for dinner. I thought it was tad overpriced.

My family of four stayed at the Hotel Mountain Paradise for 2 nights. Upon our arrival at Liberia Airport we were greeted by our driver from the hotel (Mauricio). He took us to the hotel, and even allowed us to stop for lunch along the way. The road getting to the the hotel was an adventure in itself, to say the least. Once at the hotel we were greeted, quickly checked-in, and taken to our room. The room itself was very nice, with a lovely view of Arenal and the local trees and flowers. The bedding was comfortable. The waterfall shower was a very fun experience. It felt like you were actually bathing in a mountain waterfall. The pool(s) are nice, maybe a bit too warm. The food was good, and fairly priced, all things considered. The view of Arenal from the restaurant was a pleasure to see. The free transportation to/from La Fortuna is a nice touch too. This hotel turned out to be everything I thought it would be. It isn't the finest hotel I've ever been to, but it is just what they portray it to be on their website.

Such a beautiful place, with the best staff! We vacationed here for 4 days with 50 friends and family to celebrate our wedding, which we also had on the grounds - at the Koita Event center. We selected this place with the help of our wedding planner, Our Costa Rica Wedding, and could not have been happier with our choice! As a note, we flew into SJO and it was about a 3-hour drive from the airport to the hotel.

Galberth and the rest of the staff were so accommodating and friendly to all of us. We had some guests arrive very very late (or early in the morning? 3am) that they personally welcomed and transported everyone to their rooms upon their arrival. We enjoyed our meals at the hotel restaurant and had so much fun getting to know Diego and his guys at the restaurant and the pool bar. The complimentary breakfast every morning was delicious and it was always fun to see what delicious food they'd be serving each morning.

The rooms are spacious and very clean; since we are in the rainforest, we did have to get to a stray insect here or there. The A/C unit worked well in the room. The views from every room are spectacular - beautiful flora and hummingbirds everywhere! The bed was comfortable. Great showers - you can choose between the conventional shower or the waterfall shower! Internet access is only available in the lobby...but do you really need it when you're in paradise?

The hotel was a great jumping off point for excursions as well - 30 minutes to La Fortuna, 20 minutes to ziplining, 45 minutes to rafting. The hotel staff also helped us organize last-minute excursions (and transportation), as well.

If you're looking to get married in Costa Rica, definitely consider Koita for your venue, too! My husband and I are already planning to return next year!

Room tip: The higher the room number, the farther back on the property the room is = farther walk from the reception/lobby, but more secluded from the main congregation areas (restaurant and pool).

La Fortuna was our first destination on our first trip to Costa Rica. My wife booked our trip for our family of 4 after spending weeks doing research for the trip. Our lodging goals were cleanliness, 2 double beds, pool, restaurant, breakfast included, shuttle service, close to attractions for <$200/night. Hotel Mountain Paradise met our expectations. The staff was courtesy, the rooms and amenities were clean, and the hotel location was very convenient to attractions we visited. Wi-fi was only available in the lobby which was fine for us, we were on vacation. We utilized their transport service to pick us up from the San Jose airport and that worked out very well, no problems, and fair price. We booked our attractions online, vs booking through hotel, and saved money on the same vendor. The beds in our room were large, and comfortable. The kids loved the large flat screen TV that had American speaking programs available. The kids also loved the two-level heated pool. They liked it so much we decided not to go to one of the hot spring attractions. The complimentary breakfast w/ omelette station, and Costa Rican coffee hit the spot. The one area that needs improvement is the lunch and dinner offerings. During our visit they ran our of taco and quesadilla shells so those items were not available. The red meat selections we ordered were all over seasoned, especially with pepper. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay at Hotel Mountain Paradise, it provided the things we wanted, within our budget, and in an ideal location. We would stay at this hotel again.
