Excellent place to stay in this area. We were here on a Caravan tour. Rooms were very nice, with balconies and a pool. (Also a sport bar that I did not visit.) The main feature is a view of the volcano, but while we were there (two nights) it was too cloudy to see it. Better luck if the weather is good, especially on the 2nd or 3rd floor. Avoid the 1st floor--no view.
Be sure to soak in the excellent hot springs a short distance away (see my separate review). On the road, a short walk toward town, is a good grocery store and a laundry that does what you need within a couple of hours for you to pick up.
Meals were very good to excellent.

I went to Costa Rica in December 2012 with my best friend and we were offered this hotel as part of a package by LatinDestinations.

Pros:
The hotel is nice and looks very new. AC was great. Very good water pressure.

We had a beautiful view of the Arenal volcano from our balcony and even caught a morning with no cloud cover. I believe all the rooms face the same direction. We only ate the continental breakfast at this hotel, which was very good.

Best recommendation is to walk down to town and try Novillito's Steak House (15-20 min walk from hotel). It was by far the best food we had in our two week trip throughout Costa Rica. Also do yourself a favor and take a tour of the Arenal Volcano and visit the Hot Springs.

One of the front desk people was not overly friendly but everybody else was great
Issues with key cards
Hot Tub was luke warm
Pool was freezing

Really nice hotel with beautiful,limited grounds.Pleasant helpful staff---we were given an upgrade without even requesting one.Breakfast was included and wonderful views of Arenal Volcano are yours for the taking. All this for about $100 a room.

We was there few days ago. The first impression it´s good, but that change later of the time. We pay hundred something for night, but in our room we don´t have hair dryer, neither refrigerator and the keys...oh my god! The keys never work!! The receptionist (some of the worse thing) it was evident she did not like when we ask for more coffee for our room, her face was very nuisance... but the other girl (Nancy I think) she try to give us solutions every time...the only good thing in this hotel. She recommend us some tours and that was very funny! Breakfast was good. The jacuzzi never was hot but we enjoy the pool area. This place not is a 3 stars...maybe just one!
