Just stayed 2 nights at this hotel March 6&7th. It was a great place. The front desk staff was great, no problems communicating with anyone at the hotel in English (we don't speak a word of Spanish). In fact, Vanessa was amazing at helping us resolve an issue with a transfer booked on our trip (she was our translator). Ate supper at the restaurant both nights and were pleased, very reasonable prices, great service and delicious food, good quality. Also ate the included breakfast - very good, banana pancakes were great. Loved the private hot springs at the back of the property, they have just added a bar so you can get drinks there. We have 2 children so they also loved the caymen and parrot on the property. Saw lots of birds at the back pond, beatiful grounds. Used Cab Serrano, Juan Carlos Serrano (firstname.lastname@example.org) to drive us to the falls and volcano - cost the same price as regular cab but he stayed with us the entire 4.5 hours and spoke amazing english, found us sloth and a yellow-eyed viper). The front desk phoned cabs and even our transfer company. Hotel also booked our Cano Negro tour through Arenal Adventures, good tour, lots to see.
