“Rest and Relaxation with a View”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2012

We loved the hotel. The grounds were beautiful. You felt like you were in a painting or movie, but the people at the hotel really made this a special 4 days for us. Andrea, Francisco and ALL the staff were incredible. The spa treatments were out of this world. The best we can remember having. We did a number of the day excursions. All of the trips that you can go on were really fun. During our visit to Costa Rica we also stayed at a large resort on the Pacific Coast and we would recommend El Silencio above the coast.

Room Tip: We had Room 1 and 3. They were close to the main lodge and had a great view.

I was so amazed by this place. The cabins are immaculate, the grounds are a must see. the staff are more than willing to answer any questions or concerns that you may have. There is a free breakfast every morning, which starts off with a beautiful plate of fruit. The view of the volcano is breathtaking. and the hot springs, well, I am still speechless...
This place is so amazing, you have to see it to appreciate it..

this hotel is the best place to come home to after a day of fun & excitement. rooms were clean & spacious. The pool and hot springs relaxing and energizing. You're away from the crowds and one with nature in their beautiful gardens. I would definitely stay here again.

Great location close enough to town for a short inexpensive cab.
Grounds are so beautiful
Prices for drinks are expensive... Take a cab to the super market right down the road
Room was clean! And comfy!

4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2012

We enjoyed our two night stay with our teens in March 2012. We shared a cabin, and they brought in a cot (or "nest bed", as they call it), so that we had three beds in total. This left very little room for anything else, and unpacking was not an option. It was OK for a couple of nights, but I don't like living out of a suitcase, so wouldn't have been comfortable with that set up for a longer period of time. We all loved the on-site hotsprings, and I particularly enjoyed my mini-facial (complimentary with a 2 night stay). They literally had opened their new spa the day prior to our visit, so they showed me around and it is beautiful -- probably a higher standard than the accommodations. There are two private cabanas for treatments, each with its own private hot spring. We also were pleasantly surprised with the on-site restaurant. The included breakfast was very good, and we also throughly enjoyed our dinner.

Our family stayed her for 2 nights during Spring Break in March, and enjoyed our stay so much, we are planning on returning as soon as possible! Spacious cabin, complete privacy! Only noises in the night are from nature. Clean, comfortable beds. Free wonderful Costa Rican breakfast, and very friendly and helpful staff. Staff helped arrange tours for us, including the wonderful tour of the Arenal Hanging Bridges. From our cabin's front porch, we were able to see the volcano looming large in the midst. Lovely! Flora and fauna abound on and around the property. We went to a great, low key and reasonably priced family oriented hot springs just two doors down (Eco Termales, highly recommended). We definitely recommend this place and will return!!

Room Tip: We stayed in cabin 9, fantastic
