Arsenal Springs resort offers a great blend of amenities at an excellent price. It was great to have hot springs right on site - perfect for relaxing after a day of hiking/zip lining/etc around Arsenal.

The staff really do go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and to make your stay memorable.

The hotel is made up of dozens of small buildings, each containing rooms. Privacy in each is very good as they all face the volcano. Our only complaint was that you could hear the shower in the attached room.

We were also pleasantly surprised by the restaurant as it had quite good food at a decent price compared to some of the tours it traps in La Fortunately.

I am writing this review four months after our trip, and my family and I still are amazed thinking back about our experience. There are several things that really stood out for us About Arenal Springs Resort: 1) the level of service, 2) the amazing view of the volcano, 3) the beautiful grounds and rooms, 4) the Guaro Sours, and 5) their buffet breakfast. The locals had a really high regard for Arenal Springs and I can completely agree. If we ever decide to go back to Costa Rica, we will definitely be going back to Arenal Spring Resort.

La Fortuna and the Arenal volcano have some great options for hotels. My top recommendation is Arenal Springs for a few reasons.

- The hottest springs around: Its the ultimate in relaxation
- Amazing staff: They will bend over backwards to make you feel welcome and comfortable
- Junior Suites: The rooms are clean and offer fantastic views of the volcano
- Food: a great breakfast buffet, good sushi at the pool bar

We stayed for 3 nights and I was not ready to leave!

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights for our 10th anniversary. The accommodations were nice. Our bed was a bit more firm than was comfortable for us, but we slept very well and really enjoyed our entire experience. Upon arriving the hotel staff had provided a fruit basket with Champagne and rose petals EVERYWHERE. It was a really special way to begin our trip.
Arenal Springs Resort &Hotel was not the most expensive or lavish accommodations in the area, but it was still very nice and we felt like for what we paid we received above and beyond our expectations. I would have no hesitations about suggesting this resort to a friend.
The thermal pools were awesome! I am so glad we stayed here for the pools alone. We met several other travelers that didn't have thermal pools at their hotel and they would pay to go to another hotel to experience them. It was so fun for us to go every day at our leisure and just walk from our room to the pools. The landscaping and surroundings of the pool was beautiful!

We only ate breakfast at the resort and it was good. It wasn't the best meal we had in Costa Rica, but still good. They had a variety of fresh fruit each day along with traditional Costa Rican dishes and Western breakfast dishes.
Overall, we were very pleased with our stay. The Arenal region is one you don't want to miss if you are planning a trip to Costa Rica. The town of La Fortuna has very nice people. There isn't a whole lot of things to do there, but it is nice to visit. If you are going to town it will cost about $10/ trip. We ended up renting a car for a day (we felt brave) and visited La Fortuna waterfall which was incredible and then drove out to Arenal Observatory and Lodge for the afternoon and watched the sunset over the lake. The waterfall and Observatory were our favorite things we did there. It wasn't super touristy, it felt like we got to see the real Costa Rica and not just the things people invented or created to make money.
We had a great time and wish we could have stayed longer.
