“Costa Rican Tour with Students”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2014

Back in June, I stayed at this hotel again (my second time in the past 2 years) with a student educational travel company. The view is a spectacular one (when it's clear) and it is nearby the town of La Fortuna and the hot spring sites. My room was adequate, with working air conditioning and a warm shower. While nothing fancy, it was acceptable for the money paid. Our meals were buffet style for all meals and also adequate. I think that there could have been a greater variety but, overall, it worked.

Room Tip: No wifi in the rooms, but it is a fairly good signal near the registration and dining area.

The arenal volcano is breathtaking and this is the right hotel you have to go to see the best view of it..
I have been going to this hotel for years every year it's better. The cabins are very spacious and very comfortable and decorated with taste. The bathroom is large and hot water plentiful.
They have two pools one at the entrance surrounded by beautiful greenery and flowers lovely Costa Rican flowers. Then another one at the bottom if the pathway just opposite the volcano swim and enjoy the volcano what better heaven.
The gentleman who runs it is my good friend johnny he is helpful charming kind and efficient
One of a kind delightful.
They gave a lovely restaurant serving excellent breakfasts lunch and dinner.
Television and wifi in the rooms what more do you want.
The price for the cabins also very reasonable.
Try it you will love it.
The view of the volcano is amazing and if you are up early the sunrises are magnificent.
The town is very near by enjoy

Room Tip: I prefer the cabins to the left near the fish ponds

It is catastrophe.
Unless you enjoy suffering , do not go there.
Dirty, is a kind way of describing it.
Motel 6 or 8 is five stars compare to it.
Sheets stained , bath looks terrible.
Room looks like no one touch it for a long time.
Towels small and lowest quality.
Terrible food.
People are not bad. But the place is...

Avoid this hotel
We used to stay here all the time for many years. It was beautiful. Now for whatever reason, there are no computers in the lobby, no safes in the room, no hangers, no coffee maker, no glasses, only a breakfast buffet, you have to go into town if you want lunch or dinner. They used to have a full restaurant, full bar, full service anytime in the beautiful open air dining room. The grounds used to be so beautiful, now still green with blooms, but something is missing. The fountain in front used to be beautiful now full of algae. No rugs, wear slippers or flip flops in the room. Floors always seem dirty if you go barefoot. The lower pool somehow overran each night and water ran down the walkway. Feel so sorry for the employees. They try so hard, but seems the owners don't want to put one colone into this beautiful place. Maybe because Volcan Arenal is sleeping.

+: clean rooms, volcano view
-: no service by unmotivated staff, overloaded with groups of students (4 buses in 2 days), rooms without towels/wastebin/shampoo, WI-FI only at reception/Lot and sometimes weak at restaurant, boring breakfast which is the same everyday

you have to pay at the checkin -> keep the receipt!!

This hotel have a good location between city La Fortuna and Arenal National park. We can not see Volcano because of bad weather. The grounds surrounding is really good, but same like in all Arenal region. Rooms is pretty good, but mildew all over bath! We have to wear flip flops to take shower. It's disgusting!

We were booked for two nights as part of a tour. The hotel has a hotel-style portion as well as individual cabins. We were in the hotel section. Our room was neat and clean. The matress was a little hard. The grounds surrounding the hotel are beautiful with many flowers and decorative plants. The restaurant is open open air and has a limited menu and bar. There is no air conditioning but we really didn't need it. There are two pools with swim up bars, neither pool was heated and the bars unstaffed.
