I stayed at the Arenal Country Inn October 11-13, 2005 as part of a tour group and found it to be quite pleasant. The grounds were very nicely landscaped and the pool very inviting. The bar and dining area while open air of course was covered and the food was fine. The little town of La Fortuna was quick and fun to poke around in, and we enjoyed the restaurants there for lunch one day. Close to a local hot springs spa and of Arenal viewing - it is well located. Would recommend it unless you're looking for ultra luxury.

This was a lovely place with clean rooms and good service. There's a great view of the mountain but, unfortunately, the erruption area is no longer visible from the hotel. It's off the main road (on the way to the waterfall) and is very quiet at night. They provided a nice morning breakfast by the pool area too.
