Pros--There was a nice pool with a great view of Arenal volcano. The restaurant was decent with a good included breakfast. Free internet
Cons--There was place to store clothes, no drawers and four handers on a rod very close to the sink. The lighting was very poor and it was impossible to read. It is next to a farm and roosters crow at night.

We had booked online and are always interested to see if the hotel lives up to its presentaion and this one definitely did. Cute cabins back behind the main part of the hotel with an awesome view of Arenal. Great gardens with tons of birds. Breakfast included...
The rooms come with t.v., a/c and a fridge. The bathrooms are nice, but the water pressure is not so good and the hot water is only warm. Our only complaint would be that the bottom fitted sheet's elastic was worn out and wouldnt stay on the mattress.
the pool area is great! 3 spas and a cute pool with waterfall....great to have a spa to crawl into after hiking the volcano!!!!! they also had a t.v. and a pool table out there.

We stayed at La Pradera for 2 nights and booked through Anywhere Costa Rica. The staff was very accomodating when we had an unexpected delay and didn't arrive until midnight - we were still able to get into our room OK and they responded right away which put our minds at ease since it was our first trip to Costa Rica and we didn't know what to expect! The grounds are absolutely beautiful and lush with tropical plants all over. The included breakfast was amazing and so filling, much more than a typical continental breakfast you would get in the US. Eggs, AWESOME french toast, rice and beans, fresh fruit, yogurt, sausage, the list goes on! The hotel also has a beautiful view of Volcan Arenal. There is also free wifi in the reception area so that is nice for contacting home. The hotel is great for families since it is a little ways out of La Fortuna (not more than a short cab ride) and therefore nice and quiet. The pool looked really nice although we didn't get a chance to use it. Our room was always clean and the beds were comfortable. We wished we could have stayed longer!

We may have had a better experience if we had rented a car but for travelers reliant on buses this location was a little inconvenient. When we arrived the front staff were welcoming but not very personal. We were given an escort to our cabin which was located further back in the complex among a row of similar cabins with a great view of the Arenal Volcano. Inside the cabins were spacious but we had a problem with cobwebs and ants. There was AC which made the evenings more comfortable. I don't think there were any other occupants in the adjacent cabins so I can't say much about noise level (we were there in early December). The restaurant offers complimentary breakfast - options of casado (beans, rice, eggs, fruit), continental (fruit, toast), american (fruit, eggs, toast). We had lunch and breakfast at the hotel and found the meals underwhelming. The service was a little slow for lunch as well. The location of the hotel is not within walking distance of town or any major attractions - unless you want to tempt fate and walk along the busy road with no sidewalk. We ended up using taxis pretty regularly to get anywhere which added up. Unless I was renting a car I wouldn't recommend this place for it's location.
