“Great price and location in Arenal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2012

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in December and loved it. The grounds were very nice, clean, and well maintained. There was a pool, hot tub and a restaurant that served breakfast, which was included in our rate. The location was close to the town of La Fortuna - about a 25 minute walk or short, inexpensive cab ride. We didn't spend much time in La Fortuna, only going there to have dinner. The hotel is very quiet and peaceful and is close to hot springs and activities (we went rafting and hiked at the volcano). We felt very safe and comfortable at La Pradera and had an amazing view of the volcano from our bungalow. The staff were all very friendly and helpful as well. I would suggest La Pradera if you are looking for somewhere quiet and clean for a peaceful trip in Arenal.

Room Tip: Rooms with a volcano view are the best!

Cute bungalow room close to the pool with perfect view of volcano. Rooms are simple and clean with large bathroom and small refrigerator. Breakfast was excellent and cooked to order. $3 cab ride to town. Hotel is on the main road, but the room was quiet. Right next to an open field with a few cows running around. Lots of birds around - we saw 2 parrots flying overhead while we were in the hot tub. Free internet in the lobby.

This hotel is located by Arenal volcano and on sunny days has a great view of the volcano. The people working the front desk were helpful and outgoing. Our transfer got us there prior to check-in and there were no rooms available, so they let us keep our things behind the desk while we went out and about. They helped us get a canyonering tour and get a taxi. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained with plenty of birds and butterflies.

Our only complaint was that the beds are a little uncomfortable. And for those addicted to the internet, the only place to get WiFi was in the lobby or restaurant.

This hotel far exceeded my expectations! Great location, super clean bungalows, manicured grounds, great view, tranquil however ATV tours leave from there, great pool and jacuzzi, this was the best at a reasonable price! Rent a bike and go into La Fortuna from there or get on an ATV tour, but whatever you do, the Sky Trek zipline trip is not to be missed (try the night one for the not faint of heart) .

Room Tip: All the rooms have a view of the volcano but the bungalows are especially spacious with huge beds!

Well, as with all places there were both good and bad things. I'll start with the bad I guess. The bed was very uncomfortable, it felt like I was sleeping on the bed frame instead of a mattress. Also we were there for two days and there was a horrible smell from the bathroom the whole time. I think maybe from the sewer system.
On the other hand however, the breakfast which was included was delicious and there was a great variety of food. It was a cheap $3- 4 taxi ride from the hotel to the town of La Fortuna. There were gorgeous views of the undisturbed side of the volcano from our hotel room and from the dining area. Also the hot tub and swimming pool were great ways to relax after a long day, also with views of the volcano. So basically we enjoyed our hotel, except for the 8 or so hours where we were in our room sleeping :)

The place is lovely. Even if the hotel is by the road, it was always serene… well except for the five minutes that it takes to start the RCs and to take them to the road. The internet was fast, the ice machine always was full and the place was kept constantly clean. We had the rooms that were just by the pool and the view of the volcano was incredible! (Tip: ask for a room near the end of the row, from 35th to 40th). These rooms have two full beds; they were very comfortable with two pillows each and a nice comforter. The A/C worked very well with no noise or water splashing! BIG plus there! The little fridge is perfect for drinks and to keep things cool… not iced-cold, ok. Plus, there’s a coffee maker, alarm clock and a TV with many channels to choose from. The bathroom was nice; the shower area BIG! There was a small hairdryer and a stand to place belongings. BUG ALERT: While on my room I was constantly visited by Atta ants (Big red leafcutter ants) Never been bitten by one thank the Lord!.. a little bug repellant on your door should keep them away, it worked with me! The room is cleaned on a daily basis, and fresh towels are place in your beds, folded origami styled!
The pool area has a small Jacuzzi for kids, a normal one for adults and this amazing heated-water Jacuzzi that we just couldn’t get out from! After a day touring it is the perfect spot to relax sipping a drink or two while overlooking the volcano… , there are tables and beach chairs to bask.
We found the breakfast variety quite good and delicious! The food for lunch and dinner were diverse too! We enjoy almost all the menu options. The restaurant area was very open and cozy, and the service was fast!
The overall service in the hotel was great! They are very attentive and willing to help.
I would definitely visit again. This place might not be 5 stars, but the charm and service are better than some fancy places I have been, and there treats are more than enough for me.

We stayed in one of their bungalows. They aren't the most beautiful rooms, but they were clean. And talk about incredible views WOW! This hotel is family runned and has a super friendly staff that let us in on some local deals. We had breakfast everymorning, the food was cooked to order and delicious. I would definitely go back.
