“Wonderful Place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013

We stayed here in July for 2 nights and loved eveything about it. They gave us one of the private cabinas for $89, and the view was awesome. This is an undiscovered gem of a place to stay; perfectly situated between the in-town econo hotels and the high-end resorts. The grounds are manicured, the pool perfect after a day of hiking on the hanging bridges. The individual units are built in such a way as to offer both privacy and a great view of the volcano, no matter which one you're in. With round-the -clock security at the front gate, our family felt very safe and our vehicle secure. Great place, friendly people, beautiful surroundings...what's not to like?

Room Tip: By all means get a private cabin instead of the standard room. It's well worth it.

First things you'll notice when you get there:

gorgeous, well-kept property filled with plants, plants, plants, flowers, flowers, green, green, green :)

turn around and omg it's a PERFECT-get-your-camera-out view of the Arenal volcano!:) (weather-permitting, duh...lol) :)

Then comes interaction with the front desk staff aka AMAZING persons #'s 1 and 2. Then you're taken to your room and helped by WONDERFUL person #3.

Your room is in a little individual cabin-looking duplex (but not duplex-looking) building...super cute... :) has its own little path lined with plants and just adds to the whole look of green, happy Costa Rica :)

Inside are all the amenities you'd expect to see in a U.S. hotel comparable to something that falls somewhere in a Holiday Inn/La Quinta level: comfortable, cute, clean, not luxurious, not a budget hotel either, perfect for a person to leave satisfied with his/her stay :)

The next morning, you check out the breakfast and you're greeted by a tasty selection of traditional breakfast foods and Costa Rican classics.

and then there's Melvin (one of the restaurant staff). I can only hope this person is there when you go. He's such a wonderful, kind person and, along with the rest of the entire staff, has such impeccable customer service skills that breakfast is made that much more pleasant.

Throughout the course of our five-night stay, we interacted with the majority if not all the staff, and I can safely say that their treatment of each hotel guest will surpass your expectations.

We were given so much info, attention, time, help, and suggestions for anything and everything that involved giving us the best experience possible!!

To Javier, Fernanda, Melvin, management, and the rest of the staff: thank you very much for making our stay so enjoyable, and hope to see you again someday!! :) big hug :) :)

We are from Long Island, NY. Clean spacious rooms, very friendly staff. Awesome view of the Arenal volcano from the room, well maintained property. We were a family of four with two teenage children, really enjoyed our stay. I would recommend it.

We stayed here as part of our Gate 1 Tour. Everything about this hotel was fantastic. One night, there was a big rainstorm that knocked the power out, and one of the employees brought a flashlight to our room so we could see! The food was great, the pool was great, the view was spectacular. We booked a rafting trip through the hotel, and when it turned out to be unsafe and my husband was injured, they helped us get some of our money back! Everyone was fantastic. I appreciated a computer for guests in the lobby since I packed the wrong charger for my tablet. I would highly recommend this hotel. I would NOT book the rafting trip they offer, since the guide didn't tell us the river was too high to be classified 2 and 3 rapids until we were there...but that's another story...

I stayed for three nights with my wife here as a base for white water rafting and hiking. The room was its own little building with a small kitchen area with a refrigerator, a nice patio, and a well working air conditioner. The included breakfast was very filling and the hotel staff helpful. Taxi fares to the center of town averaged about $8 US for the two of us. The location worked for us and we had no problems with insects. I would stay again.

I am Teresa from Las Vegas, NV and this was my fourth visit - all were the same. The staff is excellent. The views and landscaping are beautiful, especially the views of the volcano. The rooms are very spacious, beautiful and comfortable. I highly recommend the Arenal Volcano Inn to everyone & I will be back myself.

Stayed here for two nights 5/31/13 and 6/1/13. The Ground are beautiful and the staff is welcoming and very freindly. The restaurant has a great view and served some of the better meals we had on our trip. The rooms were clean and had a great view. My only problems were with some ants that were crawling all around the corner counter. I called and they sent somebody ou to spray which worked, but the smell from teh spray wasnt all that pleasant. The other thing was the air conditioner blew right on you which made for a real cold noght sleep. I kno wthat beats the alternative of no air, but just one of those things. The last thing is the minibar rates were not clear. My son had a snapple that clearly said was $2.50, but upon checkout were were told it was c2500.00 (Colones) which is $5.00. We even brought the mini bar menu for them to see, but they wouldn't make a change to the charge.
