We loved our stay here, even in the rainy season. The heated pool with swim up bar is so relaxing, the on site hikes are gorgeous and the Hanging Bridges hikes are only a short walk from the resort. The rooms are comfortable and the views of the volcano are like no other in the area. The drive into the town is only about 10 minutes by car. The staff is exceptional and very knowledgeable about what to do and see. I'm a go go go kind of traveler but truly wanted to stay longer than 3 nights here. Don't think about it, just book it, you won't regret it!

Wonderful experience. Beautiful accommodation and grounds, great food, friendly and helpful staff tolerated my attempts at Spanish but were fluent in English, delightful spa with experienced staff, close to many activities. And of course the yoga - with East Boca Yoga and Pilates instructor Susie Hoard!!

We spent 3 nights at the Lost Iguana for our honeymoon and wished we could have spent 30. It was so beautiful! The suite was huge with a king sized bed and modern amenities - a bar, a sitting area, even matching robes. The outdoor shower and private jacuzzi on the private patio overlooking the most amazing view of Arenal Volcano, made it really difficult to want to leave the room to do anything. But when we did, no detail was forgotten. The staff was so friendly and helped us with everything that we needed, from booking tours to immediately bringing us ice when we needed it. The hotel restaurant had great food (I loved the pico de gallo that they made fresh) and even better bird watching. There was this one hummingbird that liked to hang out right in front of our table. The drinks at the hotel bar were also delicious. We were a short 15 minute walk (or 2 minute drive) to the hanging bridges and only about a 30 minute drive to La Fortuna. If you go, be sure to book a massage at the spa, it is truly heaven on earth.

The resort is awesome and extremely peaceful, but most importantly ALL of the staff went out of their way to fulfill our requests / desires. We have traveled the world extensively, and this would rank up there as one of the best ever!
The rooms are awesome as well, and have fantastic views of the volcano. If you decide to book, I would recommend requesting a room that has both an outside shower and a jacuzzi tub. only the end units have this combo.
When you do decide to go, make sure you ask Edgier or Cesar to bring you some fresh fried plantains at breakfast!
