I've been to other Hotels in the Arenal Area....As it's one of my favorite Areas in the world....Last time we styed at a lovely Hotel, but we could have been in a Hyatt anywhere in the World. Good to be back at our "favorite", Lost Iguana. It's truly 5 * Casual elegance at it's best..."An Appendage of the enviroment" Is the best way to describe it. And that is why I Travel to Costa Rica, and not a weekend at the Hyatt, down the road. Waking up to the profusion and peace of Nature .....Being immersed in beauty, friendliness, great service, romance of it all, and Pampering at the World Class Spa....Thank You Lost Iguana, for restoring my soul once again

I went to this resort recently with some friends and had a great time. It was very relaxing, the service was top notch, the view of the volcano was outstanding. Would definitely recommend to friends and family. Looking forward to a return visit again next year.

Relaxing on the balcony while watching the clouds roll by + massages while
listening to the river rumble by + later sitting in the swim up bar drinking a
margarita = no knots in my back. Too bad they came back on the flight home. Guess
I’ve got to go back!
The views are spectacular and all of the staff was overly nice (loved Carlos and Jose
at the restaurant!). Be sure to pay for the room with the Jacuzzi on the balcony and
leave time in your trip to enjoy it! Definitely don’t miss zip lining and rafting; both
were set up by the receptionist.

My husband and I decided to honeymoon here. It was beyond a breathtaking and amazing experience. At first we weren't so sure as we drove past town to the hotel, but once we finally arrived we were absolutely speechless. I think because it is a little out of the way it isn't higher on the ratings, but it is ridiculously spectacular! If you go to La Fortuna you must stay at the Lost Iguana Resort. There are trails, massages, great food, just anything you could ask for in a place. It was safe and friendly and the views were insane. Every room looks out to the volcano and you are surrounded by the lusciousness of the rain forest. Our room was absolutely amazing! I really cannot say enough about this place. If you are in the area you need to stay here, you will absolutely love it!!!!!! We are so, so thrilled we did. It was the trip of a lifetime!! Thank you Lost Iguana Resort!!! We love you!!!

Room Tip: We had the top room they offered because we went during the start of their rain season and got upgra...

We booked through costa rican trails. They were excellent and fount the best places for us to stay. The Lost Iguana is in the middle of the most Lush forest area I have ever seen. Our room had two sliders and you could see from the bed the Arenal Volcano spewing steam, Huge Tropical Plants and that was it. You couldnt even see a building there it was as if you had built the cabin in the forest and stopped building anything else. The food was great, people were over the top nice, and they were very helpful in getting us canopy tours and hiking trails to go on. All in all it was a fantastic place to stay, would love to go back!

Room Tip: We chose a cabin with a view of the mountain, again this was the best view I have ever seen like bei...

We loved our stay at Lost Iguana and would highly recommend it! We have 2 children ages 11 and 8 who also loved this resort. It is just amazing, a perfect place to go, does not have the busy tourist feel but a nice relaxing feel where you feel 100% comfortable walking around at anytime. The hotel is a on hill but this just makes views amazing and everything is easy to get to (if needed you can get a golf cart ride to your room). We spent 6 nights here and it still wasn't' enough. The resort is outside of town but don't let this scare you away either as it takes the same amount of time to get from town to SkyTrek Zip lines, Tabacon Hot springs, horseback riding and many other things as it does from the Lost Iguana. It is just so nice I can't wait to go back again.

Behind the hotel there is a huge area of rainforest with trails, bridges over the rivers, and benches for peaceful reflection. We used the Toucan trail to walk up to the Hanging Bridges and then walked down via the road, on the trail we just saw that back of a Coati, we also so toucans flying around in the morning along with hearing many birds. The kids loved running down from the room in the morning to count the frogs in the frog pond or to see how many lizards they could find. They also enjoyed the Hibiscus maze and walking by the river.

The balcony in our room was a wonderful place to just admire the view and listen to the jungle sounds. The beautiful gardens that attracted numerous hummingbirds. The view from anywhere in the hotel are amazing and not to be missed.

The food was great and the wait staff amazing, and our kids loved the fruit naturals that they would make for them. Happy hour at the bar was great our bar tender was so nice and it was a pleasure just to talk with him.

Had a 60 min massage and a 20 min mud facial at the spa...just to die for, would do that a few more times when we go back again. Something everyone should do while on vacation it is just so relaxing and the spa area is so nice and peaceful! The kids loved the store they found everything they wanted for souvenirs here which just made it so much easier.

We will definitely return and stay longer!!

Room Tip: I am sure any of the rooms is great, we had a suite with a Jacuzzi tub on the balcony that was so gr...
