“Absolutely beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2014

This hotel was beautiful. The trees and flowers all around make you feel like you are in heaven. The view of the volcano is breathtaking. The restaurant is very good. The food was great. The pools are nice and the hot spring is wonderful. The rooms aren't the prettiest in the world but they are very clean and comfortable. I got the best sleep at this place, it's that quiet.

Room Tip: This is an Eco friendly place so if you like your own shampoo or soap bring it. They only had dispen...

A really nice resort with multiple swimming pools and a free hot spring located near the wet bar and main restaurant. We ate at the restaurant and the bar (located in the lobby) and the food was great in both. We had breakfast included and there was a great selection of fruit, cereal, hot food, freshly cooked omlettes/eggs and more. There is free wifi and a small shop on site. We did the signposted walk around the resort looking at different wildlife areas and saw some lovely brightly coloured butterflies and birds. The room was average but clean and they added nice touches like animals made out of your towels each day. The rooms also have a safe which is useful. The staff were really friendly and helpful if you wanted to book any trips etc.

I would say this hotel is better suited to guests with a car as it is not in walking distance of the closest town La Fortuna. Other than that a great hotel. One recommendation, of you are heading to Monteverde after your stay use the taxi-boat-taxi option as it gets your there in about 3 hours. This can be booked online or at the hotel.

I purchased a 3 night stay at this hotel while planning a trip for my boyfriend and myself. Based on the website, I was expecting a pretty good hotel but I was blown away when I got here!

They were able to put us in a room that was on the front of the property so we had a direct view to the volcano, nothing in between but beautiful scenery! We also got a King bed, which I was very happy about because the Groupon said it would either be a king or two separate beds. I emailed the property asking if we could be sure to get a King since it was our anniversary and they said it should not be a problem to accommodate.

When we arrived, we were greeted and checked in promptly, which was a relief since we had been traveling for so long. Once in our room, we noticed they had made those cute towel animals for us on our bed with fresh flowers as an accent. Now that was a touch! We decided to check out the bar/restaurant and it was a very nice place. There were several gentlemen who greeted us (I believed one was named Daniel and the other Alexander...). Whenever they saw us, they always made sure to come say hello and ask if we needed anything. The food at the restaurant is yummy and they have great happy hours as well!

The resort itself was beautiful and well kept. We were pleasantly surprised to find they had a hot spring in the middle of the hotel! It was probably the best part of staying here. We always ended the day in the hot springs with a cold drink in our hands!

The personnel are lovely, the hotel itself is wonderful, and you can't beat the view (unless of course, like me, you go during the rainy season and 75% of the time the volcano is covered by clouds, haha). I highly recommended this hotel.

We stayed for two nights here before moving onto playa conchal. The room was clean, and the beds are what you would expect in costa rica! We had a room with double beds so one night my husband and I slept separately so it was a bummer we couldn't get a king but we managed. The hot springs were very nice. Enjoyed that a lot. We also enjoyed the breakfast in the morning and the food both at the restaurant by the pool and the bar area in the front of the hotel. They did call me everyday to make sure we were ok, and if anything we needed, which was nice touch. I would also say that the gift shop is very over priced, but nice when you need something in a bind. Or craving a chocolate bar (FYI the chocolate bar was $5)...If we ever end up in Arenal again we plan on staying here again.

Room Tip: One facing the volcano

We stayed her for 3 nights. The location is stunning. The food at the very good, the drinks were delicious. The room was very nice and clean. The walls are a bit thin. The only thing is that the employees were not too attentive.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We had wonderful views of the volcano. As other reviewers have said the gardens are beautiful with lots of birds. We had a comfortable room. We asked for a fridge which they provided with no problem. We were told by front desk that a taxi into town would cost $11USD one way. We had flown from Drake Bay to La Fortuna airstrip & we got a transfer provided by Nature Air for $25 for the both of us. So we did drive through La Fortuna on way to lodge. We thoroughly enjoyed the buffet breakfast. We also ended up enjoying other meals - we ate a very late lunch (around 3/ 4 pm) try the chicken & rice $9USD which was delicious! (We had intended to go into town to explore but ended up simply relaxing!) Our pre booked excursions met us at reception each morning.

overall I was happy with this spot. The grounds were beautiful and the hot spring pool was okay. I am not certain that its real hot springs (felt more like artificially heated).
Pro - there weren't many people so lots of room in pools
Con - since there weren't many people, pool bar wasn't open though they would still deliver drinks to the pool.
