“Great hotel for the price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2012

We stayed 2 nights in room#316 during off season. The 1st night was very quite I think bcs no one next to our room. The 2nd night was not so quite; I think the room has brick walls, but somehow we could hear people next door talking, their tv & even the snore! Other than that it's a simple nice room, clean, nice garden, good for the price.

“GREAT PLACE!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2012

This place is beautiful. The rooms are neat and very clean. The kitchen staff were great, ready to meet your every need My husband and I had a great stay for 4 nights. The only negative experience we had is that there are no ironing boards.

“Lovely hotel with good value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2012

We just returned from Costa Rica and stayed for three nights at the Volcano Lodge and Gardens. We have a very nice stay and would recommend it highly. The rooms, as stated in other reviews, are basic but clean and comfortable. Each porch had two of the comfy Costa Rican rocking chairs that were a perfect way to enjoy a drink and stare at the incredible gardens and volcano views. We had two rooms (one for my husband and me and the other for our two daughters) and they both had great views of the volcano. I'm not sure why another reviewer had trouble with the no-flush toilet paper issue; we found that pretty standard throughout Costa Rica. I don't care about the whole wristband thing -- just not a big deal. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was very good and plentiful (especially the breakfast). I would definitely return.

“Beautifully kept gardens around a nice hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2012

The best part of this hotel is the value. It is a good and clean hotel for a fairly accesible price. The rooms are basic but very spacious, with nice wood carved furniture (typical for the area). The pool area is clean and fairly spacious, and the hot tub is also very nice and spacious. The gardens are beautiful, full of local species and small wildlife (I saw the first armadillo of my life one evening). The staff is extremely friendly and nice. They dio requiere wrist bands, which is not my favourite, but a small, insignificant detail. The restaurant has a good mix iof very good food, at a reasonable price. The spa services are good, but I have had better. Overall, a very good hotel.

“Beautiful and friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

Can't say enough about this beautiful resort!! The room was better than we extpectd!! When we arrived it was late in the evening, so we were unable to see much of the scenery. When we woke up Arenal Volcano was the first thing we saw out of our large picture window. Talk about breathtaking!!! The grounds were amazing and the food was outstanding. Definately will return!
