We came back from Costa Rica a few days ago I am still raving about Tabacon. Hot springs, beautiful gardens is top notch. Hotel itself is nice nut not superb. The rooms were nice but not spectacular. All staff members we encountered during our 3-night stay were not too warm but rather cold and not very friendly, especially att the lobby.

There are shuttles at the lobby always waiting to take you to the hot springs.. which is literally a 45 sec ride down the road. However ois is about 4-5 minutes short walk so we did not use shuttles. The hot springs are marvelous and piece of paradise. You should to experience it to truly understand the magic of this place. The Shangri-la area (adults only) was secluded, quiet and very romantic, with occasional children roaming around.

Food at restaurants were decent and VERY-VERY expensive, especially for the quality of the food., We ended to go to La Fortuna. There are number of very good local restaurants. It is only 10 minutes drive.

The volcano was shrouded in clouds, but we managed to see it for about 30-40 minutes one day. Volcano is the another reason why this resort is a great spot

When you are there you should visit suspended bridges park, as well as enormous zip line (actually it is 8 zip lines linked one to another)

I look forward to go back. Highly recommended.

We spent two nights at this resort for our Honeymoon. We were thoroughly impressed with the gorgeous hot springs. The winding pathways lead to pool after pool of naturally heated spring water which is perfect for the cool days and nights near Arenal. Unfortunately, the hotel itself seemed like an afterthought and is separated from the springs down the road. While the shuttles to and from the springs were complimentary, it still felt like planning an all day trip to go there. It is a very popular location amongst tourists and was crowded at times. The food was very expensive because you really had no other option but to eat at the springs or at the hotel. It is expensive to get a cab into La Fortuna if you are interested in eating in town. The rooms were nice but not spectacular. The volcano was shrouded in clouds our whole stay so we missed out on another reason why this resort is a great spot. The springs can make up for a lot of little inconveniences, if you like to sit at the pool all day long.

We were upgraded to one of the newly renovated suites when we checked-in and I have to say we were blown away. The bathroom was the nicest we've seen in a long time with marble floors, huge jacuzzi, separate toilet room w/bidets, glass shower with various shower heads & jets...incredible. The room was huge. With a dining table, lounge area, desk and large windows facing a lush private garden with a view of the volcano!

We bought a day pass to this resort and it was the highlight of the vacation. The hot springs felt amazing and every spot in the resort was so picturesque. The food was delicious as well. I would go back in a heartbeat. I tell everyone they need to visit this place!
