We decided to take this tour with our six year old in the afternoon since it rained most of the day and was cold in the morning. I had only been on a horse once before abut 10 years ago, but Alberto was very good about teaching commands for the horses. He was also very helpful for my husband who has very bad arthritis in his hips, and he adjusted his stir-ups and helped him during the tour. Even if raining the scenery is incredible, and the swim in the waterfall is super fun. Alberto is most helpful and very personable. If I had more time I would take the tour again!

Alberto's tour was fantastic and offered an opportunity for me to overcome a fear of riding after a childhood incident. Alberto breeds the horses and they are raised and cared for with gentleness. The ride to the waterfall offered an opportunity to see life off the main road through fields with cows, through streams and past private homes. Alberto is a lovely man who loves what he does. Don't hesitate for a minute.

We took a riding tour with Alberto on a whim one afternoon, and we were very impressed with the experience. Neither of us had any meaningful horse riding experience, and this was not a problem because the horses were well trained. The tour offers pickup and drop off at your hotel.

Alberto's tour takes you to the the foot of the Volcano across a private property, where you can walk down to the base of the La Fortuna waterfall, and even swim in the river if you want. It's personalised, and depending on when you go, it could be a small group, or if you are lucky like we were, just ourselves. Alberto makes great conversation, and shares his experiences of growing up and working on the land in the area with an honesty that needs to be seen to be appreciated. It's a very personal tour, which is great when we compared it to some of the big box activities we had done. There are some steep mud banks and a brief river crossing, but the horses handle it fine - even if you don't!

A highly recommended way to see the area.

This is a great way to travel to the waterfall. The guides were encouraging and the horses were very mellow. We had a lot of laughs. Beware - it is very muddy!!
